fathom
It's really great that the Brewers veterans have stepped up to take the pressure off of the young guys. If I see one more thread saying we should add Bill Hall or Geoff Jenkins, I might snap.

3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
Piece of s*** Brewers. I expected the Cubs choking against FLA (a few pages earlier), but man, this thing should at least be tied right now, another f***ing game given up, like that Atlanta game, except it's about the 50th time this year. I don't want to hear Cub fans crying about curses and all that, they are lucky as hell, another division they only win because everyone else absolutely sucks and the media will continue to orgasm like they're actually doing something special, which filters down to all the casual fans who are running around like idiots right now
fathom
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 02:56 AM) Who called for GJ? Many people have suggested we should sign him to play LF next year. He's one of those guys that shockingly lost a lot of his power. You know who has very funny stats to look at, in terms of power decline..........Brian Giles. Edited September 27, 2007 by fathom
Harry Chappas
Ned Yost should have packed his bags and left after the mangerial decision in last night's game. I am sure that purpose pitch really meant a-lot and served the purpose of.........oh yes, starting a late inning rally. When you have a s***ty bullpen.............. That game last night epitomized the baseball season. The Brewers bullpen is 0-3 in the last 5 games.

BigSqwert
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2007 -> 03:53 PM) Fish up 3-1 on the Flubbies through 2. I have a feeling this will not turn into a pitcher's duel.

NorthSideSox72
Cubs close the gap a bit - now 5-3. They have 2 on, 1 out, and the Marlins are changing pitchers.
fathom
Did the Marlins botch a double play ball? That would be so shocking that the Cubs had a rally around an error.
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
What lazy ass defense by the Marlins, that's basically 3 straight DP balls, Cabrera f***s up one throw, can't get to another, one bounces up the middle between two infielders who just look at each other. Meanwhile the Cubs are in full chest-thumping mode. >
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
And the sad thing about that Cabrera one was he had the force at 3rd, but he throws to 2nd errr center field instead
fathom
If the Cubs go on to win this game, we'll never hear the end of Wood's performance there. You had to know that between the Cubs luck in terms of terrible fielding against them, and the Marlins awful defense....it would play a huge role in a game this week. NorthSideSox72
Marlins still with the 5-4 lead through 6.
NorthSideSox72
Marlins bring in a LOOGY to face Floyd, and he walks him on 4 pitches. And they are keeping him in there against the righty now.

29andPoplar
Cubs lose 6-4, swept by the Marlins. Based on reactions at a suburban restaurant this afternoon, Cub fans are getting a wee bit nervous. Oh well, that's baseball.

fathom
Yost isn't even managing tonight...but it's mind boggling to see how bad Jenkins and Hall are. And Damien Miller is playing so poorly, and making terrible decisions. Edited September 28, 2007 by fathom
fathom
And the Brewers are about to be down 4-0. Gallardo's making all sorts of mistakes with 2 strikes.
witesoxfan
Why has Gabe Gross never been given a chance to start? His numbers - even with hitting .230 this year - are pretty solid all around. So what gives? This is also why I kind of wish the Sox were rebuilding next year so they could take a chance on a guy like Gross.
