Rowand44
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Cubs are going to win the division by more than 5 games. I'm of the opinion that I want to see them playing the Mets in the first round. That's a great offensive team if Alou/Beltran are healthy. I highly doubt the Cubs win the division, yet alone by 5 games.
Greg The Bull Luzinski
The brewers really have their work cut out for them tonight. I wonder how they are going to manage to blow a 9-0 lead and squander a chance to pick up ground on the unstoppable force that is the Cubs? CWSGuy406
Prince Fielder just hit a 450 foot (at least) foul ball to right-field. It made the upper deck right down the line in Arizona. Amazing -- I hope B'HAMBARONS is at this game. Edited August 22, 2007 by CWSGuy406

fathom
He just started grooving fastballs, and you could tell in the 8th he started to lose his crispness. I'll never understand why teams throw Theriot outside fastballs. Edited August 22, 2007 by fathom

fathom
Great, now we have to hear 100 stories about how a chopper through a drawn-in infield was a work from above. I told my brother before the pitch they were leaving way too big of a hole between first and second.

You're damn right I'm worried about them winning the World Series. They find a way to win games, and in the terrible NL, they have as good of a chance as anyone if Zambrano gets back on track. Don't worry though, there's no chance they can play your Braves in the first round.
Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 21, 2007 -> 11:17 PM) You're damn right I'm worried about them winning the World Series. They find a way to win games, and in the terrible NL, they have as good of a chance as anyone if Zambrano gets back on track. Don't worry though, there's no chance they can play your Braves in the first round. My Braves won't be skinning the Cubs in the playoffs this year, unfortunately, though I still think they've got as good a chance as any of the other NL Wild Card teams of making the Wild Card. I still don't really buy the Cubs.
fathom
I can't believe Kasper just said this was their biggest win of the year. The Aramis walkoff vs the Brewers jumpstarted their run, as they would have fallen to 8.5 games out if he makes an out in his AB.

Balta1701
Frickin' Brewers...screwing over Brandon Webb now. I hate that team!
fathom
Brewers hit a lot of liners and deep fly balls late in the game, but couldn't pull it out. It looked like Estrada had a go-ahead homer in the 9th, but the ball died a few feet short of the track. Words can't describe how bad the ump has been in the Cubs game. Since when has Rich Hill deserved the Glavine treatment, and Zito gets no help at all.

Harry Chappas
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 04:02 PM) DAMN YOU MATT CAIN!!! His performance today rivals (and based on the fact he is going head to head with the highest paid pitcher in baseball history) tops that of Micah Ownings this game could easily be 0-0 and if he is not so stout they could be losing. Oh Well, jacque Jones will end getting a slam and bunt triple to win it for Big blue.
