Chisoxfn
Everett has solid numbers. I'm guessing the Rangers are paying his salary, but two great prospects wouldn't be a good move, one good one (Jimenez and then Rauch woudl be alright). What if his last few were his first of the year and the the rest of the went from the beginning. Let's say he was in the middle of his 9 game losing streak (or however long it was). Would Buehrle look as good if he was traded to your team?? Or would he look better now because of the way he has pitched in his last 5 starts?? Or would you just look at his season stats?? How would you rate Buehrle based on those circumstances if you were on the receiving end (and not knowing him like we do)??? Just curious

Just curious The problem with your proposed dilemma, is that we all knew Buehrle is a quality pitcher, and if I was .... say ....a Cardinals fan, I would have been thrilled to get MB during the middle of his losing streak. Conversely, I know Everett is a helluva hitter, and have faith in the fact that what you saw from him in June is an abberation.
Texsox
This would kind of suck but what if our All-Stars were E-Lo and Everett?
YASNY
If Everett is named to the All Star team, he better have a good rest of the week. LOL
YASNY
It would be bizarre as hell if Everett's first appearance at the Cell in a Sox uniform is at the ASG!
Steff
This would kind of suck but what if our All-Stars were E-Lo and Everett? Frank will be there, too. And why on earth would that "suck" anyway?
Texsox
Frank will be there, too. And why on earth would that "suck" anyway? Evberett instead of Frank. I would rather see Frank playing in his park. Now if we have three, that would really be cool.
Rex Hudler
Conversely, I know Everett is a helluva hitter, and have faith in the fact that what you saw from him in June is an abberation. Look at Everett's career stats. They are posted in another thread. He has only had TWO good years, the rest have been decent, but by no means great. Everybody remembers his two good years (1 with Houston and 1 with Boston) and his fast start to this year. I hope he helps us, but I don't think he will be appreciably better than what we have already. He may hit a few more homers, but I don't think you would see a big difference. It is not out of the question to think that the combo of Rowand/Harris could hit .260-.275 the rest of the year with 5-10 HR and 30 RBI. So the question is, how much will Everett give you over that?? Will that be worth what we will give up? Only time will tell. Everyone says that Everett is such a great hitter, but I can't find stats to back that up, beyond those two huge years he had. His numbers say he is pretty average, even 4th OF average. His average numbers over 8 MLB seasons: .277 16 HR 67 RBI Give him the benefit of the doubt and only count 7 1/2 seasons since he spent time in AAA in 1995 and you get: .279 17 HR 72 RBI Great Hitter like everyone says???
