Not that this has anything to do with it (and this kind of post is probably a month and a half week or so), but I'm almost certain I've been in this bathroom a handful of times. Its in the terminal that I use when I fly back home. Kind of freaky.

I would suppose he will be resigning now.

Think again.

MINNEAPOLIS - Idaho Sen. Larry Craig defiantly vowed to serve out his term in office on Thursday despite losing a court attempt to rescind his guilty plea in a men’s room sex sting.

“I have seen that it is possible for me to work here effectively,” Craig said in a written statement certain to disappoint fellow Republicans who have long urged him to step down.

Larry Craig just put the Idaho Senate seat in play for 2008 by not resigning.

Wow. Maybe 60 seats for the Dems isn't a pipe dream.

With Domenici just announcing he's retiring at the end of the term as well, I think 60 might be possible in 2008.

Here we are still talking about this guy, when we have another story in the papers.

http://www.kxmb.com/News/167702.asp

Lawmaker sued for allegedly groping a male legislative page

(Note contents) FORT PIERRE, S.D. (AP) State Senator Dan Sutton of Flandreau has been sued for $250,000 in damages by former legislative page Austin Wiese (WEES), who alleges Sutton groped him in a motel room in Fort Pierre.

Wiese's lawsuit alleges two counts of sexual battery and one count of sexual assault. It's a civil lawsuit no criminal charges have been filed.

The suit claims Sutton invited Wiese to stay with him at the motel during the 2006 session.

Court documents say they shared the one bed in the room and that on three nights in a row, Sutton inappropriately touched and fondled Wiese, who then moved out of the room.

Wiese, now 19, says he has suffered mental anguish, shame, indignity, embarrassment, pain and suffering.

He's being represented by former Congressman and Governor Bill Janklow.

Early this year, the state Senate held a hearing on the allegations. The Senate then voted to censure Sutton rather than expel him.

I wonder what party he belongs to? Did he have a wide stance as well, or just a regular one?

state vs. nation = big difference in coverage.

And actually, as I recall, wasn't this or some other state rep/senator in one of the Dakotas in the news right after Craig's initial info came out?

I am also curious why a civil suit, and if a sexual battery really occurred, why not call the police and have criminal charges filed? And why did he say yes to staying in one bed with the guy? Something seems amiss there.

We don't wonder do we? Of course they are covering for a Dem, what else would the liberal media do.

Here we go again with another story where a Democrat is being accused of sexual misconduct, yet the Associated Press doesn't feel that mentioning the man's party affiliation is important to the story. In this case, the AP is carrying a story on "State Senator Dan Sutton of Flandreau" (that would be in South Dakota) who is being sued for "allegedly groping a male legislative page." Sutton is a Democrat -- not that you'd be able to tell from this story.

The male escort responsible for the downfall of Christian evangelist leader Ted Haggard is now alleging that embattled Senator Larry Craig also came to see him.

While promoting his new book during a radio interview with KNWQ-AM in Palm Springs Wednesday night, Mike Jones hesitated from making the allegation on the air.

Management for the radio station says Jones told them he would reveal something about Idaho Senator Larry Craig on the "Bulldog Bill Feingold Show."

While he hesitated doing so on the air, a NewsChannel 3 camera was rolling when he made the accusation during a commercial break.

Feingold asked whether the Senator had seen Jones in a hotel room.

Jones responded, "No, he came to see me."

Jones then added, "His travel records to Denver have been documented. That's what I wanted to say."

NewsChannel 3 asked Senator Craig's office to comment on the allegations that Craig came to Denver to see Jones, who calls himself a gay escort.

Craig's office said in response, "Mike Jones' allegations are completely false."

so i guess its up to the people of the great state of Idaho to vote him out of office.

if they don't care, he'll remain.

if they do :hawk:

Which is the way I've always said it should be.

For the last couple days or so, the hits on our good friend Senator Craig by that media that is out to get him have resumed.

David Phillips. Mike Jones. Greg Ruth. Tom Russell.

Four gay men, willing to put their names in print and whose allegations can't be disproved, have come forward since news of U.S. Sen. Larry Craig's guilty plea. They say they had sex with Craig or that he made a sexual advance or that he paid them unusual attention.

They are telling their stories now because they are offended by Craig's denials, including his famous statement, "I am not gay, I never have been gay." Those words, spoken on live national TV on Aug. 28, are now memorialized on a just-released-for-Christmas Talking Senator Larry Craig Action Figure.

The paper is citing 8 people, 4 of them on record.

Sure, there allagations can't be 'disproved', but can they be proved, or it is just he said/he said? We all know he is scum, but it seems like shoddy reporting reporting on one persons comment as fact. Just curious if any off them can prove it, other than by saying Craig can't disprove it. Must not have been anything juicy to come out of the debate other than CNN losing their credibility, so they have to go attack someone, anyone, whoever is easiest.
