How many former White Sox just beat up on the White Sox?

I realize Sosa played for the team a long time ago ... but wow.

When will this nightmare end? All the Sox do is lose.

Well if you are going to suck, you want to suck in style. Lets be the best at being bad. Lets get the number 1 pick. People who are living and dying on every pitch still this year, need a reality check. This is 2008 Early ST. And that is it.

We are going to get such a sick draft pick next year. This is exactly what we need.

Yep, I have no problem if they lose the rest of the year. I was happy with what we saw from Wasserman tonight...he's the type of pitch to contact, get a big double play without throwing 100 pitches per batter that we lacked this year in the bullpen.

Please don't bring Buckvich back next season.

Amen.

And no Cisco. No MacDougal. No Richar (sorry Richar lovers). No Thornton. No Boone.

No Uribe. No Floyd or Danks. No Erstad, my god, no Erstad. That's a good list for starters.

And no Walker. And no Owens except as a reserve.

Give me MacDougal, Thornton, Logan, Danks from that list.

Why in the world would you want MacDougal and Thornton?

What in the world have they shown you?

Relievers are so inconsistant from year to year and both have proven before that they can be successful in the majors, not to mention that they both have terrific arms. I'd like Mike and Matt back next season as well.

What if he signs with Boras and the Sox don't take him? What if we end up with the 2008 version of Matt Bush?

Sorry, I just can't root for my team to lose so they can gain a draft pick.

Well I would like to see us evaluate other teams options for the draft in the winter considering I don't believe we'll get the #1 pick (IMO, we'll fall #2 or 3 on the list) and see what other future studs can be had. Hopefully we can actually draft a player most on the board (esp. spect experts here) can agree on and see how good our farm system can become now with this draft class of high picks we will have.

Well winning doesn't accomplish anything at the moment. At least with a high pick we get a shot at a "special" player.

We're going to be in a similar situation next year as this one, where we'll have only two picks within the first 60 or so (depending on the number of sandwich picks). Resigning Dye and Buehrle has removed that possibility.

I keep forgetting that we did that. IMO, Sweeney not developing might have cost the sox future plans of 2 sandwich picks for now and the future as far as prospect development. I didn't wanna see Dye here next season but unfortunitely we will.

As bad as it sounds, which of the two are better for our future -- a top three pick, or finishing up strong in a useless season and ending up around 7-10?

If believing in this makes me a bad fan in someones eyes, then so be it. Judging from this thread many agree with me.

Lefties are hitting just .197/.275/.268/.543 off of Logan this year in case you don't know, those are some of the most dominant LOOGY numbers in the game.

Opponents are hitting .204/.348/.323/.670 off of MacDougal this year when AJ catches for him. Those numbers skyrocket to .417/.475/.556/1.031 when Hall is behind the plate. This is a common trend with White Sox pitchers.

It does seem silly to give up on a 22 year old lefty who has been pretty close to league average for a majority of the season and has shown more than a few flashes of brilliance, maybe we can keep Danks around.

Oh I'm with you and have been for a while when it comes to this topic. Losing is much better for this franchise at the moment.
