The Ginger Kid
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 04:57 AM) At the end of the day, I love Ozzie. at least he gives a s***, I'll give him that.
Steff
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 11:09 AM) How much does his anger toward the organization have to do with it? Zero. Him and JR have been fine for a few years now. He's just happy being a retired ball player who plays a lot of golf.
Steff
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) People could just refer back to this simple flow chart for their answer in the future. Q. Would Carlton Fisk work for the Chicago White Sox --->Does Jerry Reisndorf still run the team? -------->If Yes, then, answer= "f@#$ no!" Which is completely incorrect, according to him. The problem was never with JR specifically. It was with Shu.
Wanne
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) Zero. Him and JR have been fine for a few years now. He's just happy being a retired ball player who plays a lot of golf. I hope that's true....and some day he'd get the itch to get back into the game. I'm not tryin' to stir the pot or anything...but it still seems that there would be just a tad ill will. Like Rocky said, "still got some stuff in the basement...." btw steff....LOVE the Bo idea! Steff
QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) btw steff....LOVE the Bo idea! Sadly, I don't think that's a possibility - at least in the near future. He's building a facility out near Lockport so I would assume that's going to take up a lot of his time over the next few summers. He wasn't sure in March if he would be back in AZ for ST'08. southsideirish
Sports training, iirc. Like the Ditka Dome? I too love the idea of Bo Jackson being around the clubhouse all the time. Wouldn't he be a better addition to this team than Harold Baines? Did the loss of Rock Raines hurt this team? How has Razor Shines fit in? WCSox
QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 09:40 AM) JMO, but for those with a ring... the attitude is long gone and not coming back any time soon. That may be true, but a lot can happen in an off-season. Especially if new people with the correct attitude are brought in.

WCSox
The Bears D was statistically better in '86 than '85. Their offense not being able to sustain drives (or score points) was the problem.

They lost their swagger after that. That may be true, but they lost more offense than swagger. And I'd say that their offense was more than "just good enough" in '85. McMahon was a play-maker. 1985 Bears 456 points scored (#2 overall in points, #6 overall in total yds) 198 points allowed (#1 overall) 1986 Bears 352 points scored (#13 overall in points, #14 overall in total yds) 187 points allowed (#1 overall) Edited August 30, 2007 by WCSox

I like Harold and he was my hero back in the late 70s and 80s but I hear ya: I cannot see how this guy inspires anybody. He's a... wait for it... another flatliner. That's how he played, fine. As a coach? Mmmm.

29andPoplar
I never talked to the veteran guys about him but the younger guys love Razor Shines. Probably because they played for him and took to his aggressive style.
