whitesoxmanager
Tears swell in my eyes after watching the Phils win today. For all of you that thought Aaron Rowand wasn't going to be missed. I just wanna say a long overdue kiss my ass!
29andPoplar
Great, glad you feel better. Go out and buy his jersey and maybe check Ebay for his baseball cards and send him a self addressed envelope for his autograph then light some candles and light the fireplace and have a glass of wine, maybe you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside. fathom
Good for Rowand....it's great to see such a fan favorite, even though he's far and away the most overrated player in Sox history. That Phillies offense is so fun to watch.

29andPoplar
A little harsh there, don't ya think? Nope. A lot less harsh than lots of what's posted here. No bad language or telling people to kiss my rear end or anything.
Soxbadger
Nah I dont think its harsh, its just great we all love Rowand, hes not a Sox player anymore, and hasnt been for 2 years. Its like constantly posting about your ex-girlfriend, shes gone, sure shes hot and you still want to sleep with her, but shes gone.
fathom
I saw this thread knowing the Phillies game was close. Just now, I looked at the box score, and I was sure I was going to see that Rowand had hit a game-winning homer. Much to my surprise, it was Chase Utley with the winning hit. So, why exactly was this thread started?
sf_soxfan
How 'bout Gooch? Also had a key hit in the win...

fathom
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) It was Rowand's passion which put them over the top in this one. Aaron's fire lifted Utley's game to the next level. If only Jenks was on the mound for the Phillies, Rowand would have definitely misplayed a crucial fly ball in the top of the 9th. 29andPoplar
That Phillies offense is so fun to watch. Couldn't agree more, they really are a fun team to watch and I love the passion of the Philly fans, borderline psychotic though they may be. It's just too bad they have zero pitching with Hamels out. However, I'm rooting for them to get the WC, and the Mets to win the NL East. The Critic
Ugh. I'm so tired of the Deification of Aaron Rowand around here. I hope the Phillies massively overpay for him and give him a lifetime contract with a rock-solid no-trade clause - MAYBE that would slow down the Pope Aaron blather on the board. Nothing will ever STOP the Jesus H. Rowand chatter, but maybe the removal of any hope for his return could dampen it. I wouldn't have minded him coming back before, but right now I'm so sick of his name that I never want to see him in US Cellular Field again.....until his statue is built, of course..... (COME BACK, VOMIT SMILEY!!!! ALL IS FORGIVEN!!!!)
Wanne
I'm sure the Philly fans blew him kisses and he got warm embraces all around after going 0-4 with 4 K's yesterday.
