Mr. Showtime
The 11PM CST Baseball Tonight again said 3 minor league players to Texas. The reporters here in Chicago claim the Sox players we're saying goodbye to Jimenez. Why in the world would Texas want him? Or is there another deal here? Joel
Maybe they are saying goodbye because he is being sent to AAA
Guest JimH
Jimenez is being designated for assignment along with Rios to clear roster spots ... he is not being traded to Texas as part of the Everett trade. It's 3 minor leaguers ... one from AAA, two from lower levels. At least two of the 3 are pitchers, maybe all three. This from Bruce Levine's mouth at the ballpark tonite. Cerbaho-WG
Rios and Jimenez were designated for assignment. The Sox now have 10 days to sent both of them to the minors, trade them, or release them.

Chisoxfn
I can only hope we can get a taker via trade. Does Jimenez have options left? If so it is alright I don't want to lose him for nothing though. I really am a Jimenez fan.

Joel
I guess JM, KW, Hahn, or whoever liked what they saw from Harris and think of him as the future 2nd baseman.

I really am a Jimenez fan. Really? Why? First off he draws walks. I'm a huge believer in OBP, its one of the rare things I agree with Billy Beane on. He also has a smooth swing and is a switch hitter. Maybe he isn't the perfect defense guy, but that doesn't mean he has value. I also think the Sox could acquire a quality reliever for him if they wanted to move him and designating him for assignment really hurts his trade value. Maybe Kenny will pull of a deal for a reliever with Jimenez? CWSOX45
YASNY
We won't get much for Jiminez. The other teams know we have to move him. Basically, we're over a barrel on this one.
Wong & Owens
I am almost positive that Jimenez does not have any options left.

Texsox
SPECIAL REPORT no one will want him There will be a taker. Even if we get a prospect or two to help our system. Remember they have teams to field also, and stands to fill. Now that I live in a non major league city I have mixed feelings when minor league players are traded. On one hand I am really psyched by these moves for the club, I am also sad for the fans that have been watching Ring and whomever else we are giving up for Everett.
