juddling
Kanye West had to put his two cents in regarding Britney Spears opening for the 2007 Video Music Awards: “I can’t believe she would perform. She hasn’t had a hit record in years,” he said, apparently miffed that MTV didn’t invite him to open the show. “Maybe my money’s not right. Maybe my skin’s not right.” Kanye.....as someone who should know something about marketing, Britney is a trainwreck that everyone wants to see (whether it's to see her fail or do well). Personally, i think Kanye is vastly overrated in the rap world and should realize that the world doesn't revolve around him.

fathom
That opening performance was about the worst thing I've ever seen. I don't know who had a worst beginning today, the VMAs or Dumatrait on the Reds.

bmags
right, nobody would turn into a music award show to see an artist with one of the top singles of the summer. Good point.

Good point. Seriously, are you going to try and make an argument that Kanye would have been a bigger draw than Britney Spears? I hate the VMA's, and I even tuned in for the first 10 minutes to see what that hillbilly was going to do, I imagine i wasn't the only one. Britney Spears stumbling around the stage like a retard is still relevant... next year it might not be. Kanye would be better off trying to make his hilarious "feud" with "Fiddy" seem less like a marketing scheme to sell albums.
SoxAce
I hate Justin Timberlake with a passion but I do got respect for him. His points to me went up after his speech when he won "Best Male Award." The top line was when he said "And MTV play music videos we don't wanna see the Simpsons on reality T.V. anymore" Pure Genius. SoxAce
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) Seriously, are you going to try and make an argument that Kanye would have been a bigger draw than Britney Spears? Yes but still a low rating cause both would have been disapointing ratings anyway. I hate the VMA's, and I even tuned in for the first 10 minutes to see what that hillbilly was going to do, I imagine i wasn't the only one. Britney Spears stumbling around the stage like a retard is still relevant... next year it might not be. Amen Murcie. Kanye would be better off trying to make his hilarious "feud" with "Fiddy" seem less like a marketing scheme to sell albums. Ditto even though I'm pulling for Kanye cause I don't want to see 50 Cent rap ever again. He's a f***ing joke. Plus 50's hate on Kanye (tried to pick a fight with him TWICE) makes it even more humerous cause Kanye is really getting into his head. And for the record lyrically, I'm not a fan of Kanye West in fact IMO, he's a better producer/"beat junkie." But he PWNS Fiddy and most other MC's in the game today. bmags
it's not much of a feud. Fiddy was even in the studio with kanye during the making of his album and kanye quotes him warmly in one of his songs. Kanye has stated he's a fan of fiddy. They even showed up on stage at the VMA's together. "When I heard that thing about the debate, I thought that was the stupidest thing. When my albums drops and 50's album drops, you're gonna get a lot of good music at the same time." - kanye west.

Its like the teddy bear vs. the gorilla. Def Jam [West’s label] is going to buy about 200,000 of Kanye’s records. Kanye sucks, I’m going to be honest, he sounds like a robot, he has a robot record.” - "Fiddy" Your right though, they dont really hate eachother... they went to the "diddy" school of economics, and are drumming up publicity in order to sell some records. It's like professional wrestlers who like bling... and b****es.

The Critic
I just watched a clip of s***ney's "performance" and wow, was she horrible. Half-assed lip-synching (hell, if you're gonna lip-synch, at least TRY to mouth most of the words) and walking through that routine like she was the only one who hadn't learned it yet. Maybe it took too long to get the babies to drink their soda and eat their Doritos before practice?

Maybe it took too long to get the babies to drink their soda and eat their Doritos before practice? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihH6TpxPcRI Wow. Thats unbelievable that she went out there and performed and felt that half-assing it would be acceptable. X17 has the excuse of the bad performance X17 has uncovered the truth behind Brit's less than energetic performance tonight. A source tells X17 Brit found out about Sarah Silverman's crappy line about Britney's babies just moments before she took the stage to perform "Gimme More." Needless to say, Britney was PISSED! ... as any mom would be. Britney was so upset she walked through her performance just to get it over with (despite encouragement from her friends, including Sam who was apparently yelling at Sarah backstage) to skip out on it all together). She held up her end of the bargain and got a major slap in the face from Sarah. breatheheavy.com blames Sarah Silverman Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney. Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed b**** said it anyway. Sam Lufti was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh. Making fun of kids is not condonable," and that "she should have picked on someone her own size." Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh. You'll get what's yours However, I fall into the Perezhilton.com line of thinking(mostly because I find this funny) An open letter to Britney Spears Dear Britney, F*** you! F*** YOU!!!!!!! We are insulted, offended and disgusted by your “performance” at the VMAs. Are you f***ing serious??? What you did was disrespectful to your few remaining fans. And it was disrespectful to MTV! You didn’t even try!!!!! You should have just cancelled, b**ch. Your performance was beyond pathetic. The old Britney Spears, who was at one point (a long time ago) truly great, would be embarrassed by your lack of professionalism and utterly sh**eous appearance at the VMAs. Where was Criss Angel? Where was the magic? And by ‘magic’ we don’t mean any tricks or illusions. You seemed dead onstage. You have lost that spark and shine that used to ooze out of you! We all know you lipsynch, but you couldn’t even do that well at the VMAs! And you barely danced! You couldn’t even get good hair extensions?????? You have no one to blame for your failure but YOU! There was no way you were going to be good. You were out partying every night before the VMAs for three days in a row until almost sunrise! You were probably still drunk or high during your performance!!! You almost tripped a few times, you f***ing mess!!!!!!! No bullsh** excuse that you or your camp will come up with can make up for how pathetic your performance was. You heard Sarah Silverman was going to make fun of your kids and it upset you? Deal with it! Rise above it! Or don’t go on! A true professional will DELIVER - no matter what!!!! Let’s repeat that. It’s worth repeating. A true professional will deliver - NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! What you did was inexcusable! Your new manager, Jeff Kwatinez, should be ashamed of himself! You have tainted his reputation and everyone at his company, The Firm, should run and hide. Your record label, Jive, must be thrilled. You should apologize to everyone, Britney!!!! You are pathetic! F*** YOU! xoxo Perez P.S. Your beer belly looked hot! P.S. #2 - Thank God for Alicia Keys! She is the real deal! She killed it! She is what the VMAs should be all about - the music, the showmanship and the professionalism. P.S. #3 - How badly did the Video Music Awards suck all-around??? P.S. #4 - For Perez’s full recap of the VMAs, tune in to What Perez Sez, premiering THIS TUESDAY, September 11th at 9 pm - only on Vh1! P.S. #5 - We hope you are getting help, Britney. Seriously. Sincerely. You need help! We hope you have a good psychiatrist!

Texsox
Can she just get to the porn movies so I really never have to hear about her? I now have such a huge admiration for Madonna. She managed in this same slutty world and won. Along the way she even managed a tune or two that didn't suck really bad.
