KipWellsFan
We have acquired 2 of the biggest assholes in the league and are both not exactly reknown for their team play. Just the thought of Carl Everett in the lineup disgusts me. And who knows what prospects we gave them. And now we are just parting ways with d'angelo jimenez. Who is going to play second base next year??? I DONT LIKE IT
BridgeportHeather
Brace yourself. Alomar's joining his brother, and he and Everett are coming into a clubhouse that's rocking right now. I think that'll rub off on the two.
Molto
Everett is a jerk in the media's eyes. many players respect him because he's a hard working, smart player. as far as Alomar. once again, he was in a bad situation. these players will not affect the clubhouse. CubKilla
Who is going to play second base next year??? Jimenez or Harris probably unless JR opens up the pocketbook and spends . Remember, in both the R Alomar and Everett deals the Mets and Rangers respectively are paying their contracts. Something new for KW I know . So, in acquiring R Alomar and Everett, the deals have cost JR $0.00 ..... just Almonte, Ring, the other guy (?????) and whoever Texas chooses from the list of 5 or 8. As far as their attitudes..... as with all deals..... wait and see. I may not like the majority of deals KW pulls off but I always give him the chance to provide positive results. If Jimenez was half-the-ass reported by some here, you lost a big distraction right there. Let's hope Everett doesn't take over where Jimenez left off. I don't think that R Alomar will be a problem though. He wanted out of NY and now gets to play with his bro. Sandy will keep his ass in line . KipWellsFan
You are probably right about the rubbing off of their new pumped up teammates. And the thought of a hardworking smart ballplayer is good. But I'm still a little pissed about likely osing Jimenez now, and I just think we are parting with too much talent. Oh well everyone seems to be happy and that's good for the team.
danman31
And now we are just parting ways with d'angelo jimenez. Who is going to play second base next year??? Willie Harris did play 2nd base today. Is it such a stretch that he could play 2B and leave CF to Rowand and/or Borchard in the future?
doubleM23
I'm more "down" on the Everett trade because I think the Sox needed a table-setter at the top of the lineup rather than another big bat. Being on a winning team and not mired in that baseball hellhole called the Texas Rangers should shut his ass up.

I'm guessing Harris is the 2nd baseman of the future if they can't resign Alomar. Also, I'm not worried what-so-ever about these players "attitudes", I am worried about who we gave to the Rangers. doubleM23
Jimenez and Rios were sent down to the minors for assignment I thought they could refuse assignment (a la Josh Paul), file for free agency and move on with their lives. Rios, for sure sounded like he doesn't plan on being in the organization any longer... Couldn't get a read on what was going through Jimenez's mind... If anything. danman31
I'm more "down" on the Everett trade because I think the Sox needed a table-setter at the top of the lineup rather than another big bat. Totally agreed. The Sox need a leadoff guy. My reaction to the Alomar trade was, "Wow, a good leadoff type hitter." As for the Everett deal, he isn't a leadoff type guy which means Valentin might be hitting 2 which worries me the way he has been hitting this year. It worked in 2000 though, so I guess it could work again.

JoshPR
Don't give a s*** about there attitude, as long as they play winning ball. Alomar has never been a cancer. Justllok as his past record always has played hard and does the little things to win. The problem is people look recent. Alomar was in a bad situation. playing with sandy will help

The thing is Everett has decent speed and a very good obp and in my opinion that makes him deserving of the two hole. Alomar and him should be a very good 1-2 punch and really gives the Sox a good mixture cause it means Daubach plays a lot more (Another lefty bat) and Jose can be down in the lineup, another mainly lefty bat. This really breaks the lineup up.
doubleM23
He did accept the trade to the White Sox rather quickly didn't he Damn, whenever he arrives in Chicago he should bow down to Kenny and Jerry for springing him from Texas where the owners have bidding wars with themselves and spend millions of dollars on pitchers like Chan Ho Park. The thought of Everett as a 2 did cross my mind, but I don't know if that will happen. There are a lot of possibilities with this new bunch of hitters. Rex Hudler
If they refused, it hasn't been reported. Definitely a possibility though. The White Sox did option them down to the minors though according to AM 1000. Actually they designated them for assignment. The Sox have 10 days to trade them, put them through waivers and then send them to AAA on a Minor League contract, which then they would have the right to refuse that assignment and become a free agent. That process can be done faster than 10 days, but the Sox have that long if they so choose.

YASNY
Jiminez will be picked up by someone, if we can't trade him. As bad as he is, I can see him play 2B on the north side with Grudzie at 3B. He'd be an improvement over any current 3B the Cubs have.
