Who bats where?

The best I can come up with is...

2B; Roberto Alomar

SS; Jose Valentin

1B; Frank Thomas

RF; Magglio Ordonez

CF; Carl Everett

LF; Carlos Lee

DH; Brian Daubach

3B; Joe Crede

C; Miguel Olivo/Sandy Alomar, Jr.

Any other suggestions? Swapping Manos and Alomar would be the only other thing I can see happening... But this is JM.

I just am not a big Jose fan at the top of the order because his obp is low, although Everett in the 5 hole makes a lot of sense and even what ESPN had with Thomas in the 2 and Everett in the 3 hole made sense.

What may make the most is Carlos in the 2 hole with Everett in the 5 hole and then go with Daubach behind him then Crede and Jose and then the catchers.

But this would be a drastic change. I like Carlos more then Jose as well in the 2 hole.

I like Jose in the 2-hole because he would see a lot more pitches to hit (fastballs) with the protection of Frank, Maggs, Carl, and Caballo. Now, in the 6-spot his protection is Crede, Rowand, and Olivo... No s*** you don't pitch to a guy who's hit 25 homers every year for the last 3 years or so when you're next three hitters have a combined like .230 average.

That's an idea to ponder about Carlos hitting in the 2-hole. He responded well when asked to hit higher in the lineup last year, so I think he could very well take on the task.

One thing i dont think anyone has mentioned.  These two deals allow the sox to have a killer bench on offense. :o

WE can give so many players a needed day off and not have to worry..........

I still want Willie Harris to play 3 or 4 games a week. He is not a batting title contender - and will never be - but his speed causes a lot of problems.

If only he could hit .280 - man, we could have an offense to die for.

I am sure he will. These two deals have made the sox offense so flexible, its scary. They HAVE to have one of the 3 or 4 deepest offenses in baseball.

I know he's struggling once in a while, but now you can AFFORD to have a guy finding his way in your lineup. I like Daubach a LOT, but I would play him twice a week at DH, and have Everett DH the other 5 games - with Harris in CF 5 days a week.

His speed is scary. If he would only learn to swing DOWN on the ball and forget about home runs, he would give us an element in the offense I haven't seen since One Dog roamed CF.

I miss One Dog. :(
