Greg The Bull Luzinski
Quick observation: Saw sound bytes on the news this morning of fans leaving the park last night. It is just like Who-ville after the Grinch stole Christmas. They are still freakin' happy and saying we got next year. Your ass just got swept out of the playoffs idiots. You lost! Cry or something! The Critic
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 08:26 AM) Quick observation: Saw sound bytes on the news this morning of fans leaving the park last night. It is just like Who-ville after the Grinch stole Christmas. They are still freakin' happy and saying we got next year. Your ass just got swept out of the playoffs idiots. You lost! Cry or something! To be fair, that could be the slant the news outlet chose. The fans in the park gave a pretty good round of boos to Ramirez when he made his 12th out of the series without a hit, and they also booed pretty heavily when the final out was lifted softly into right field. I'm sure there were some weepers and some angry people coming out of the ballpark last night along with the "shiny happy people".

I saw a couple who displayed some emotion. Namily an older lady who said "I don't have much more time to wait till next year...". I felt bad for her. Then there was a guy in a red shirt who just kept yelling "I don't care, I don't care, I'm a die hard Cubs fan.. I don't care...." I'm not quite sure what he was trying to say but apparently he didn't care and he is a die hard Cubs fan.
Kyyle23
The postgame on WGN 720 was pretty amusing. There was a lot of "I have denounced the Cubs, I no longer follow baseball" sentiments. I remember being uber-pissed when this happened to the Sox in 2000(ironically at the very hands of Lou Piniella), but i wasnt about to denounce my team for losing again. And at that point it was 83 years without a championship so it wasnt as if I felt I was going to see a championship in my lifetime. To be truthful though, the way the Cubs find ways to lose in the playoffs is just plain wierd.
SoxFan562004
Levine on AM 1000 was just taking the Cubs fans to task for booing the team yesterday. He was saying they needed their support and what a great year Aramis and the like has had and they shouldn't boo because they had a bad stretch.... hysterical
The Critic
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 09:24 AM) Levine on AM 1000 was just taking the Cubs fans to task for booing the team yesterday. He was saying they needed their support and what a great year Aramis and the like has had and they shouldn't boo because they had a bad stretch.... hysterical Ramirez went 0-for-12 when they needed him most, left 12 men on base in 3 games, and killed quite a few rallies in the process. The Cubs were not the better team in that series, but the series should have been much more competitive than the Cubs made it. Their fans have every right to voice their displeasure. Levine's a joke. I popped a bottle of champagne for each of the three White Sox 2005 postseason series wins, and I popped one last night after the Cubs limped quietly into the off-season. The 2005 victory toasts were orders of magnitude more enjoyable, to be sure, but it was still a very nice way to celebrate another spectacular display of Cub futility. They are the few who have suffered through 50, 60, 70+ years of losing. But these 17 year olds crying and rolling around on the ground talking about the agony of 100 years of losing, GMAFB. BigEdWalsh
I haven't an 1/8 of an ounce of pity for the oldest die-hard Cubbie fan in the world. If a person has chosen to follow the Flubs, and has continued to follow them lo these many many years what else can they expect....THE CUBS SUCK!!! Kyyle23
from the NSBB.com thread "Why are White Sox fans so full of Bile and hate?" Seriously, why are Sox fans so bitter? Why do they hate the Cubs? This isnt a frienly rivalry. Its an actual seething cauldron of hate from them. Ive been trying to figure it out, but for the life of me I cannot. What have the Cubs or thier fans ever done to them? Nothing that I can think of. Ugly child phenomenon. They always feel unloved and resent that the pretty child gets all the swag. If the White Sox won the World Series and got the WS trophy(ie. "the swag"), then who is the ugly child?

Kid Gleason
QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 01:11 PM) My reply...why is such a crappy team loved nationwide? That's what I don't get. I would think by now the Cubs fans would finally just give up, but for some reason they keep going. I seriously am beginning to think that they are truely fans of the losing. I just know that if my favorite band just released crap album after crap album, I would eventually find a new, good band to follow.

I'm in Northern Virginia now, but I was living in Chicago in '05 and I vividly remember plenty of Cubs fans rooting for Boston, LA, and Houston. I remember seeing it on the nightly news, I remember having douche-bags on the El' yelling "Go Boston!" at me while I was wearing White Sox gear, etc. So I don't know where these dinks get off pretending they are above all of that. Cubs fans are just delusional. For example, I've been wearing my Sox hat around lately and Cubs fans get very offended. Like I should be openly rooting for the Cubs or something. I honestly don't care if cub fans root against the Sox, I don't see why they get so worked up about someone who roots against their team. It's just a game that is broadcast for entertainment purposes, and I am entertained watching the cubs lose. RockRaines
The fact that they have a thread on their board about us says enough about who hates who. Brian
I got attacked by a bunch of Cub fans today at the gym, verbally. A week ago, they were asking me when the Sox played and all that crap. I just shrugged it off cuz I couldn't talk. Than today, I turn it back on them and they go off with the usual attendance stuff and how we only had 72 wins and stuff like that. It was funny. They were overrating the talents of DeRosa, Fontenot, and Theriot. Everytime I brought up our trophy, they were like, "That was 2 years ago. Talk about the present." I said that I was sure if the Cubs ever won, then 2 years later Cub fans would forget about the title. They didn't really respond to that. Good times. Tell them that you can remember the feeling you had when Konerko hit his grand slam, when Blumm hit that ball in extra's, and the final out. You realize it was 2 years ago, but it seems like yesterday. Then ask them, so how was it for you and the rest of cubdom. Oh I forget, the only way you can get that perspective is if you purchase a ouiji board, or a shovel. Dummies ate a baseball Dummies are now eating reptile. Meanwhile they should try this novell idea of playing better baseball. But no, its curses, goats and bartmans. I wonder what they are grinding up and eating next year. whitesoxfan101
All you have to do to shut a Cub fan up is this: 1. We last won a world series in 2005, you last won a world series in 1908. 2. Congrats!! You tied the "crappy, 72 win White Sox" this year in playoff wins. 3. At least Big Z is ready for game 4, right?
