2007-2008 NHL Catch All Thread

And so there are whispers that Havlat is going to be back in the next week or so. I don't think I'm a huge fan of that but I guess I should have some faith that the Hawks' medical staff knows what they're doing. It's just, seeing how he got injured in that first game -- it didn't even look like anything happened. It looked like he got tapped on the back of the shoulder and 'pop' it went.

Obviously if you baby him too much you're going to take make him a bit worse of a player, but I still hope he's being told to be very careful -- avoid any post-whistle scrums, avoid confrontation, avoid going into the corner too hard -- just make your magic happen with the puck in open ice, score a bit and get off the ice. He shouldn't be used on the PK, either, and it's no longer needed for him to get huge minutes. He's just gotta take some pressure off of that RTK line, who (for all intents and purposes) should be getting the most ES minutes (even if they're not technically the 'first line').

Now THIS is how you go at this thing. You show everything, you give inside looks, and you do it in HD. This should be a very solid first broadcast.

Damn -- they're really doing their best to promote the hell out of that game. That's nice to see.

The kids are a little sloppy in the early going. Both Kane and Toews have turned the puck over (in the offensive zone, but still). No great chances for either team yet, though.

Buy a webcam, point it at the computer, and send me the feed.

Maybe Bill had a point. I was thinking about going Sunday, but now I might just stay home because it's on TV....

I can't afford another $100 between the 200 level seats, parking and my chicken fingers and vodka.. :lolhitting

Bleh. Hawks are up 1-0 but they've had lots of chances this period. They've completely controlled the period outside of one odd-man rush led by Zherdev. Just a few seconds ago the Hawks had a 4-on-2 odd-man rush and didn't get a very good look at all. It's good that they're controlling the play but damn -- FINISH!

Bolland was fantastic tonight. The Duncan Keith goal was all Bourque and Bolland, particularly Bolland who gave a great pass right on the doorstep to Keith.

Nice nice win. I feared they were going to fold after the two third-period goals by Colombus, but they didn't.

We've all seen the all-star game anthem plenty of times, I think (I was there and I swear I haven't heard quite as well since that day), here's another one that I haven't seen before (not on tape, at least). I almost cried watching this, and definitely got chills throughout. Wow. I'd kill someone to have one more game back in the old stadium.
