So who's watching this instead of the Bears 2nd half?

One more hour -- I'm way too anxious. The game preview on CBH.com had this to say:

The Blackhawks, meanwhile, hope the potential return of Martin Havlat can help them halt Detroit's run and win a season-high third consecutive game.

I hope they're not rushing things but damn, it would be so f***ing great to see #24 on the ice tonight.

Who writes that preview? I thought it was someone from the nhl.com, not the hawks website. It's the same preview that's on the nhl website, so I believe it's just something they threw in there that isn't necessarily correct, and they used the word "potential" even though we've heard nothing of the sorts. I would think we would know if Havlat was coming back tonight, I would be utterly shocked if he took the ice.

I'm pumped for this game.

2-0 hawks after one period. Good f***ing start.

Absolutely.

Seemed as if Detroit came out and were really on the front foot for the 1st 5 mins, but then the Hawks took over.

Keep it up boys.

Kane's goal was off a sweet pass from Lang.....man these guys look good so far. Looks like a nice crowd there too. Is it just me or does Comcast's sound still suck??

It does indeed suck.

But I'm NOT complaining. I'll mute it before I whine about a home game on TV.

Kane to Toews 3-1. Beautiful

Kane to Williams to Toews, but yeah it was awesome.

Rudy had a mini-break at the end of the period, didnt have an angle but I would have liked to see him get creative with the puck. Still, he's playing strong and so are the hawks.

This is AHL related, but is it common practice to Zamboni the middle of the ice between OT and shootout?

They just did it in Rochester, and I don't think I've ever seen it done before.

Yeah, it is. They dry scrape it to get rid of all the snow and s*** so pucks don't bounce off sticks.

OK, thanks. Never did see that (or never paid attention).

Wolves win 2-1 in shootout, 11-0-1 now!!!!

Interestingly enough.... i've seen a ton of guys leave the clean stripe of ice, take it outside and lose the puck, or have their shot somehow affected by a rut in the chopped ice.
