witesoxfan
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Another dagger in the hearts of Cubs fans everywhere. Colorado is the last of the recent expansion teams to make it to the World Series before they do. And I fully expect the Rockies to win it all, too. Tampa Bay sucks. However, 3 down, 1 to go with Colorado, Zona, and Florida doing it...unless of course you are just talking NL here, then that's different I suppose. And, even if Arizona gets close and this guy hits a 3-run homer (he won't), Arizona did their part to maintain the equilibrium in the game today. LOL, and as I type this, he parks it. He won't...riiiiiight.
Jordan4life_2007
Good catch, Wite. I totally forgot about Tampa.

CWSGuy406
On gameday, it shows Upton's triple as hitting in the white, right on the border of the fence. Since I have no TV near-by, did Upton hit it off the top of the wall?
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) Rockies fans are awesome. Especially with Tulo. With more people getting to realize how great Tulowitzki is (and he may end up being better than Reyes & Hanley Ramirez), I'm beginning to wonder when analysts start comparing this crop of 3 young stud ss's to the last crop of threes that came into the league (the past time it was in the AL and it was Jeter/Arod/Nomar). Jordan4life_2007
This Colorado crowd is AMAZING. The one thing I regret about 2005 is that none of our clinchers came at home.

witesoxfan
How perfect...Byrnes up, 2 outs, runner on, down by 2. You can tie it Byrnes...how badly are you outplaying them. LISTEN TO BILL NYE BYRNES, SLIDING SLOWS YOU DOWN and congratulations Colorado, you're incredible.
DonkeyKongerko
A Rockies-Indians World Series ten years after a Marlins-Indians World Series would be pretty cool.
SoxAce
Congrats to the Rockies!! I called them going to the World Series (Look at the prediction thread ). Mark my words it's gonna be Rockies-Indians (Heart going for the Rocks, Prediction going to the Injuns)
Milkman delivers
The phrase "National League Champion Colorado Rockies" is just something that really never crossed my mind before a couple of weeks ago. I personally felt that they would make it to the World Series where they would fall to the Indians, but maybe, just maybe they'll somehow pull it out. I'll certainly be rooting for them. Milkman delivers
I actually did predict this. I also said it would be the Indians to win the AL (and I've also picked every other series correctly so far). The only one I stated, though, is the Rockies winning the NL. Jordan4life_2007
If the Rockies get the pitching they've been getting, I don't see either AL team having a chance.
WhiteSoxfan1986
LOL at Melvin letting Drew swing away. It looked like they had Corpas on the ropes for a second. Melvin was badly outmanaged in this series. If Ozzie pulled some of this crap two years ago, I don't know what I would have done. I still think the winner of the AL wins it all. SoxAce
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 12:37 AM) Boo cheating. Thank you, thank you, no applause is needed. Lol, I actually had every prediction right so far looking at the thread in every series but if there is one prediction I seriously hope I'm wrong of, it's the World Series prediction. I pray that Colorado gets it. It'll be nice to see Helton get a ring even though I'm a Kenny Lofton fan as well. But I love the Rockies and the city. Some players who you love to root for are more on the Colorado side.

CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 16, 2007 -> 05:39 AM) If the Rockies get the pitching they've been getting, I don't see either AL team having a chance. Ehh -- the difference between either AL lineup and the D'Backs is so enormous it isn't even funny. You could obviously do this for every player in the order, but things are just a tad bit different when you're pitching to number three hitter Eric Byrnes vs number three hitter Travis Hafner or David Ortiz. And I know this isn't the ALCS thread, but the ALCS so far has been everything I could've asked for. I'll be shocked if the series doesn't make its way back to Boston. Those are two great baseball teams going at it.
Jordan4life_2007
That's why I said "if" they get the same pitching. I realize the D-backs lineup is nowhere near as good. But to shut them down the way they did was quite impressive. And they also shut down a pretty damn good Phillies offense in the first round. I was thinking the pretty much the same thing during the pregame when they were talking about Byrnes being the heart and soul of the team an lineup... I was thinking he would probably hit 6th or 7th on a typical championship club.

As much of a dick as he was with the Sox, I've always been a huge fan, and I have to root for him to get it.
YASNY
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Oct 15, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) Could you imagine what the Rockies would've done to the Cubs? lol. They would have completed the sweep in about the third inning of Game 1.
