Kid Gleason
They're O.K., but you get what you pay for pretty much. Plus, for my taste, they are a little "soft" sounding. As for pedals, don't use 'em, aside from my RAT pedal. I go from the guitar, through the RAT, and into my Marshall plexi.

Leonard Zelig
Seagull's are made in Canada, which is a positive. They have many models and they range from about $300 to near $1500, so, IMO, it would be wrong to make a blanket statement about the company. It would depend on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend.

It would depend on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. O.K., I tried one of the low-end models. It was very "soft" sounding, like I said. It vs. my $150 Alvarez (which is about 20 years old and has never seen the inside of a case), I take the Alvarez. I like the old "cheap beat-up Delta Blues" sound out of my acoustic. I hate the sound of Ovations. But that being said, it was a cousin-in-law who was looking to buy a guitar that I was with when I tried it out. he tried out about 4 other guitars, and we both decided the Seagull was the best.
