Contacting Sox players

If I wanted to send something in writing to a Sox player, what's the best chance of actually getting it into their hands? I imagine they get tons of fan mail and it has to pass through a security proceess, so they probably never even receive most of it.

Anyone ever written a player and heard back from them?

During the season Scott Reifert, the vice president of communications, spends a lot of time with the players, asking them questions and talking with them. He can be emailed at [email protected]. Other than that I have no clue.

I believe somewhere along the line Ozzie's email address was out in the public and he was reading the mail that people were sending him. Someone on here probably knows it.

But if you want Andy Gonzalez to know he's awful I bet he already knows.

I sent out a card to get signed by Big Mac in 2000 and he refused to sign it unless I paid $50.00. I've done that to some NBA players too, who were happy to sign autographs. If you are willing to send a letter to the player, though, I'm sure they would read it if it was a few sentences long because they make a ton of money and I doubt they want to read a lot, lazy asses.

I've mailed items for Buehrle to sign and received them back. The main key if you're planning to do that is to include a SASE inside and you should get it back if the player you write does sign. Some of them don't.

When i was in 8th grade I sent a rookie card and a letter to Robin Ventura with Comiskey as the address, and he signed the card, sent back a letter of authenticity, and signed the letter and wrote a little note back to me. I got it back in 2 weeks

Although I have never sent anything to a Sox player, my uncle sent a letter to Robin Ventura's agent to sign a picture of himself for me. I got it with my name on it, and happy birthday. Of course though, my uncle knew his agent from a book he wrote so I don't know how good of an idea this is. :notworthy
