Milkman delivers
Thanks for all the solid, and a few excellent, years on the South Side. And a special thanks for that little trophy that we couldn't have gotten without you.

Balta1701
What was it, game 4 against the Angels? On 10 days rest, sinker not working at all, and he comes back and throws a complete game with nothing but his fastball?

southsider2k5
Thanks for the memories Jon. I was glad to see him beat all of the "Judy" haters, and become an anchor of the rotation.
fathom
Most underrated performer on the Sox over the last 3 years. Thanks for everything Jon!
demonbluess
Thanks! 92-81 for the Sox, 4.41 ERA over 8 seasons. ... oh yeah ... and a World Series ring.
WHITESOXRANDY
I liked watching Garland pitch and I think he's underrated by most outside of Sox fans but he was also overpaid. I do thinnk that he's young enough and he can get better which is why I wanted to see him extended but it would've cost too much. Good luck Garland. I'll be rooting for you. NCsoxfan
While I appreciate everything Garland gave to the organization I always thought he was a "me-first" player. Besides the obvious whining and snubbing of White Sox fans, I had the unfortunate experience of meeting Jon and Kip Wells on a road trip to Cleveland in 2001. While no player has the obligation of talking with fans, Jon was arrogant and unfriendly to me and my father. Remember, at that point, he was only 21 years old or so. Everyone has bad days and maybe this was one for Garland, but in all my experiences with him and memories of him dealing with the press, I will not miss him at all. Texsox
Thank you for all the effort and being a part of something I accepted would never happen in my lifetime, a World Series Championship. Enjoy the trip to sunny California.

Way to be the jackass who hijacks the thread. Nice work. Big Jon, I definitely will miss you. While I was one of many who would get frustrated with you from time to time, I really appreciate all you did for this team and this city. Without you, we arguably wouldn't have won the big one in '05. I sincerely wish you the best of luck in LA and hope you end up staying strong. buckweaver
bad trade. Not really...Garland was always better than Matt Karchner! Good luck, Jon

WilliamTell
what? no! The best part about Jon Garland was that we screwed over the Cubs in that trade, plus the World Series of course. Good luck Jon, I'll miss ya.
PAUL KONERKO 14
Bye Jonny Thanks for 2005, your only good year, and hoping for a great career in LA.
jackie hayes
Jon, I hope the Sox f*** you up every time we see you and singlehandedly send your era into the mid-teens. Besides that, I wish you well. Unless the Angels get Miguel Cabrera. In that case, if the Sox are good, I hope everyone f***s you up real bad, which will likely send your career into a tailspin, although be assured that that is not my goal, I just do not want to see good pitching + Vlad + Cabrera on one team in the playoffs. But since the Sox will probably suck regardless, I will, probably, wish you well. Sincerely, jh
elrockinMT
We traded the wrong pitcher, but Jon has to know how special we thought he was.

BMac Attack
Bye-bye Jonny... it's a hell of a lot nicer in Southern Cali than Chicago all winter anyway. Way to be my favorite ever Sox-Cubs trade. Totally f***ed 'em on that one. The very definition of a solid starter.
