29andPoplar
Egbert, Russell, Lucas Harell, Cole Armstrong (?!?) added to 40 man. No Bourgeois. Roster is at 40.
YASNY
Anyone have anything on Armstrong?
Steve9347
Well, now we know that they'll definitely be going after a new leadoff hitter. No one in the organization fits that bill right now.
CWSGuy406
Halle-f***ing-lujah! Unfortunate that it's two years too late, but... White Sox Baseball: Just like our scouting, we eventually got it right!

AWhiteSoxinNJ
From Rotoworld: Jack Egbert-S-White Sox Nov. 20 - 4:42 pm et White Sox purchased the contracts of RHP Jack Egbert, RHP Lucas Harrell, RHP Adam Russell and C Cole Armstrong. Egbert and Russell, along with Gio Gonzalez, all figure to be part of Triple-A Charlotte's rotation, leaving them just one step away from the majors. Russell could end up in the pen long-term, but Egbert is a sleeper to contribute in fantasy leagues in 2008. Scott Podsednik-OF-White Sox Nov. 20 - 4:40 pm et White Sox designated outfielder Scott Podsednik for assignment The assumption was that Podsednik would be non-tendered next month, but the White Sox needed his roster spot now. Podsednik could still be traded over the next 10 days. If that doesn't happen, he'd go on waivers. However, he has the service time to declare himself a free agent if claimed

witesoxfan
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) Anyone have anything on Armstrong? From what I recall reading, good defensive catcher. That's about all I remember. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) I don't think that taste is there... White Sox lore; I thank him for that and not much else
Balta1701
So, wait, Bourgeois is not on the 40 man so he's rule 5 eligibile...and now the 40 man is full so it's impossible for us to sign anyone without dropping a player first? qwerty
I say this is one of the top three days in white sox history.
DBAHO
QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 08:48 AM) I say this is one of the top three days in white sox history. I thought you would be quite pleased. Now we've just got to find a better replacement. Whether we can do that, will be interesting to see. bschmaranz
I now wait for someone to start the "Who can we get for Pods" thread followed by someone's suggestion of going after Matt Kemp with Pods.
ptatc
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) So, wait, Bourgeois is not on the 40 man so he's rule 5 eligibile...and now the 40 man is full so it's impossible for us to sign anyone without dropping a player first? I thought this was odd also. If the Hunter signing is imminent, why would they fill the 40 man. Either it's not imminent or there will need to be a trade for someone on it (Crede/Uribe) first. Doesn't sound like the Hunter deal is as close as some thought.
Heads22
So there, Eggy on the 40 man.
Rowand44
Well he has been brutal the past two years and I'm very happy he's gone. That being said, he obviously was a vital part of a Championship team and we don't win it with out him. Good luck to him wherever he ends up. joeynach
Even if we get Hunter do you think we make a play for Crisp to play LF. Also what kind of package would it take to get melky cabrera, the yanks don't necessarily have en everyday spot for him with Damon, Matsui, and Abreu. Also what kind of package would it take to get melky cabrera, the yanks don't necessarily have en everyday spot for him with Damon, Matsui, and Abreu. Plus I think Shannon Stewart is an option for LF he can probably be had for about $5 Mil per year and will hit .290 ish.
