I know Oakland is dealing from a position of strength so why bend over? With Toronto paying Smelgado 17mill what are they doing taking on payroll, didn't they claim to lose upteenth millions of dollars again? I guess KW is just not capable of making trades that the SOX would get more for the deal than the other team. Toronto gave up nothing to get this guy. For all we know the A's wouldn't do the deal unless they got a solid arm and KW said no. We don't know what goes on in the negotiations, so it really makes it hard to tell.
