Chisoxfn
no.....maybe it was just speculation. i saw it on a bears msg board and also WSI. Supposedly the Dodgers would be willing to trade Brownie but the Sox would have to take on his contract. It wouldn't cost much to take him, unless the Sox have the Dodgers pay most of the contract, if thats the case the Dodgers would get quite a few. My guess is we'd provide the prospects for them to get an offensive player and get Brownie in return. Don't think there is much chance at this happening though as I think it was a few posters speculating. I have heard on the radio in LA that the Dodgers are willing to move Brownie, simply to dump his contract.
danman31
Ponson isn't weak though. ERA is under 4 and he is on pace to win 20 games and can give innings. He's got a dynamite arm and I am alwasy a fan of having lots of pitching. I never said he was weak. I think he is an above average pitcher as I said before. I just don't think he is worth giving up good prospects or a solid major leaguer. If we can get him at the same price we got Alomar, then go for it. That doesn't sound like it will happen though. danman31
Above average???????? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stat...ontext=pitching I think you were right when you said weak. Judging by those numbers you could be right. I wouldn't say he's weak because he has an ERA under 4 this season. I wouldn't waste good players on this guy. For average prospects I'd do it, but that's lower than what the Os are asking.
