I think KW just got his clock cleaned... by Detoilet no less...

How did he get his clock cleaned exactly? We dont even know if we were even in on the bidding, it could have been fodder by Fla. We also dont even have close to the top tier talent that Detroit just gave away. You cant buy a 50 dollar steak with 10 bucks, no matter how great you think you are.

What if it wasn't as close as everybody thought, and Kenny drove up the price for Detroit.

Nothing but conjecture. Even if Williams did drive up the price, Detroit probably doesn't care...they now have one of the games elite hitters.

Good thing we keep going cheap in the draft, and the Tigers keep overpaying for top talent. At least JR and Bud will stay friends.

Because Ken Williams is a moron!! Don't you know that?!?! And the Sox have no chance in 2008, even though it's not even 2008 yet.

Wait till they either have Porcello in their rotation or trade him for some impact player 2 years from now. If we draft Danks brother in 08 its time for Kenny to f***ing go.

this is my thought. When I heard about DET yesterday trying to acquire them I thought we were gonna try and do whatever to block it, but I mean they gave up their amazing farm. Unfortunately, with their farm gone, they are still in pretty good shape with a young granderson and a young cabrera to build upon.

And alot of older players, and prob a now staggering pricetag for Mcab.

The only way he got his clock cleaned is by having one of the greatest hitters in the game, only 24, go to a division rival. You're right, he couldn't offer the package Detroit offered because he doesn't have it. Too bad it took him and the rest of the organization so long to figure out there was a problem drafting and developing players.

That helps us how. We are built if you wish to use that term to compete now. With all of the post 30ish players on this team. Its now or never. Kenny burnt the farm already to get to this point. Having the Tigers burn theres is going to make for some company down the road when Minny reloads. We are between two points and we will wind up with another medicore to s*** season.

How do you offer a competitive package without driving up the market?

Other people here are assuming way too much about what went down, all because of some beat reporter with poor knowledge and spelling? This site is ridiculous sometimes.

Are you guys who are bashing KW over this really upset because you thought we were getting MC all along, or just because you got your hopes up after the report that the "halls were buzzing" over a Sox deal?

Because our system sucks and we can field offers for one of the best hitters who happens to be 24 years old. Dont worry wait till you see him live and in person for 19 games a season. I am sure he will be handled by our rotation and stud pen.

Excuse some of us for believing the report when we had been linked to him all along, and the guys writes that a White Sox source admitted we had an announcement forthcoming about Cabrera.
