WHITESOXRANDY
Atleast Kenny Williams is consistent. The bullpen was crap in 2006 and 2007 and will be in 2008. The outfield was a joke in 2006 and 2007 and will be in 2008. Who says that he doesn't learn from his mistakes. I'm more convinced than ever that Kenny won the lottery in 2005 and he'll never come close to getting that lucky again.

TheBigHurt
So we missed on Hunter, then Jones, then Fuku, now Rowand. Can it get worse? Do we have any good targets left besides these faint rumors of Bay and Roberts? Damn, I'm depressed now. We're gonna have Jerry freaking Owens in center next year... whitesoxfan101
Like I said with Fukodome, this is truly a blessing in disguise. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) That's a steal.
max power
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) On the list of desired CF's, in order of preference... Hunter Fukudome Rowand Hamilton Ramirez Crisp Owens Pierre Yikes. Running out of possible improvement players. Mark me down for Hamilton. How long would he be under contract? If its 3 years or more, I say its worth losing the pitching.
GoodAsGould
If we can land Roberts and than someone like Hamilton/Patterson I will actually be kind of optimistic going into next year. But right now, I still think our offense is lacking.

Our offense will be lacking even more if we trade Richar for Robers and have to play Ozuna or Uribe at 2nd base while Roberts serves his steroid suspension and deflates. Can they actually suspend him from the Mitchell report? I dont see how that makes much sense because from atleast Roberts standpoint its his word against another. I dont see how that makes much sense because from atleast Roberts standpoint its his word against another. Yeah, Roberts I think will not be penalized for his actions. I can't even believe he was included in the report, to be honest. Basically, the evidence against him was that Larry Bigby claims Roberts once admitted he tried steroids once or twice in 2003. He can't be suspended for that...
JDsDirtySox
Aaron Rowand was on the Mike North Show this morning. He said he got an offer from the Sox 2 months ago, and never heard anything from them after that offer. Rowand waited and waited to hear from the Sox, and the silence told him all he needed to hear. retro1983hat
ARow is on ESPN1000 now. You can hear in his voice how much he wanted to come here. No big deal, we have Jerry Owens and BA. Ahhh, I love my baseball team scratching to win 70 games. KW ......................................WAKE UP!
DaTank
IMO I think Rowand said he wasn't in a rush to decide who to sign with because he wanted to see if the Sox would make him an offer. It's terrible how badly he wanted to come back but of course KW denies him that. Rowand may have even signed 6/55 with the Sox as a discount. Texsox
QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) 5 year deal, mlb.com is reporting. I've never been happier to not acquire a player. Time to get creative KW. Interesting timing as well. Of course, anything that would make the team better means less fathom complaining posts. I'mm looking forward to 162 days of complaining that we don't have a competent CFer.

No you're not. And amazingly I agree with you on that part. On the other hand, I'm probably the only one who's willing to say we should tough it out with exactly the guys we have now. Who are we going to get? Mike Cameron...please no!!! we're pretty much forced to go with the guys that we have now.
Guest
I think that is a viable option and one that is not necessarily doomed to failure. But more than likely DOOMED to fourth place. I think Miggy might of made a difference but really we didnt have the prospects that the Tigers had.... But yeah while I love Hunter/Rowand as players... I dont think either would make the difference between playoffs or not.
