aboz56
"We stink and that's it." What a difference a few weeks makes, I wish a reporter would replay this quote for Mags and I'd love to hear what he'd say now. He'd probably have a good laugh as we all are now... witesoxfan
He'd probably say "And you wonder why we are playing better baseball?" That was a big motivating factor, but getting rid of Jimenez was another. With him out of the clubhouse, everyone can be happy and play well. aboz56
I think this was a big quote coming for Mags. He is our quiet leader and for him to step up and say this actually meant something while the rest of the team was making excuses.
greg775
Jimenez must really be a piece of work. To come with his reputation and to continue to apparently be a cancer when he's really done nothing in his career is mind-boggling. I wonder who pulled the plug on him. KW or JM? Like many have said no matter what happens with the trades we get D'Angelo out of there.

The only things I liked about D'lo were hearing his music when he came to the plate and his game winning hit versus the Cubs.
doubleM23
I'd still rather have Jimenez than f***ing Willie Harris.
aboz56
I'd still rather have Jimenez than f***ing Willie Harris. If he's that bad in the clubhouse and would complain about his lack of PT, I wouldn't. Willie is simply happy to be in the majors and doesn't expect much. Willie is simply happy to be in the majors and doesn't expect much. Agreed. And Willie can play, what most people call, defense. I don't know what Jimenez does, but that sure as hell isn't defense. I can get all the balls that come within 3 feet of me too. I can also run the bases about as well as Jimenez can. Willie can fly, he can play a little OF, he can play 2B pretty well, he's got some pop in his bat(as much as DJ does), he can bunt, he tries, he isn't a cancer in the clubhouse, and he plays with heart. You tell me how much of that DJ can do, aside from having pop in his bat....and I'd probably have to call you a liar.

DJ is a talent, but until he plays with passion and plays hard every single play, he is only going to be a mediocre player at the big league level. The first thing he has to do is get his head out of his ass when he is between the white lines.

I still have that quote in my sig and will take it off when I feel comfortable that this isn't an illusion. But when it does get taken out(and I think it will be very soon) then this team is for real real...Only I can make that distinction and nobody else...
