Leonard Zelig
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Whining? I'm just sad that our fans aren't all that bright, and yes it's a bitter pill to swallow when I see the majority of our fans are wrong. I hope you have a good excuse after we finish in 4th again this year though. So do you think another GM would have been able to sign Hunter or Fukudome? Or would have been able to get the Cabrera trade done? I find it really hard to blame Williams for not getting those deals done.
witesoxfan
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 08:59 AM) I think he is treating now, and this past season as basically one in the same, although he admits the latest moves have improved things a bit. Yeah that QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) Yeah-getting rid of a 200 inning pitcher for a shortstop we have for one year is the high point of his idea of improving. Williams has got to go Why focus on one move? The Sox added an outfielder that will be around for 5 years, another outfielder who will be around for 4 years, and didn't add any crippling contracts to the team, though I'm not personally a fan of the Linebrink signing. And as Yas pointed out, the Sox wouldn't have had Garland past this year anyways, so that's a moot point. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Whining? And there is a good excuse; the Sox have gone into a slight rebuilding movement. KW has added some youth at the major league level over the past 6 months or so, and thus these players will be around for 5-6 more years. If you can't see that, then you are blind. Beyond that, you can't be wrong about what you think. You are wrong yourself in believing that.

stretchstretch
QUOTE(sircaffey @ Dec 23, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) The most baffling part of KW's attack post World Series is the pitching. For a team that won the World Series solely on pitching, we suddenly have one of the poorer pitching staffs in the league. I think KW would be a good GM if he was able to develop talent from within. He can't succeed without available talent to support his ultra-aggressive style. But since the cupboard is bare, and not getting much better, it's time to bring in someone that cultivates young talent. we relied on Freddy and Contreras to a HUGE extent, it was impossible to know they'd be that dominant in the playoffs, and as well as be soooo bad later on, it's just the way the chips fall, and they fell for us in 2005.
