The songs you have in iTunes are on your old laptop. You have to import them over.

Then, you have to hope and pray that iTunes doesn't delete your purchased songs, saying you can't play them because you don't own them.

I hate Apple.

How do you import them over? My other laptop crashed so I can't get on it, obviously.

I checked my purchase history and they are all there listed, but not in my library.

iTunes may offer a service to re-download, since they apparently keep a list for you.

But anything you didn't download from iTunes is only on your old laptop for sure. iTunes keeps its music files on your hard drive, as far as I know (certainly its that way for me).

Backup drives are a necessity, my friend.

Yeah I forgot about that, you could also copy from your iPod, if you have one. But, I have had major trouble with that before - sometimes iTunes will not only not allow you to play those files, it may delete files off your iPod if it thinks you shouldn't have them.

Ah. We were up in northern Vermont in Stowe. Near Burlington. I love Vermont.

Yeah it is a nice place. I actually preferred Utah though (can't believe I just said that).

Also, I'm writing a paper about "Managing Teams" ATM. Does anybody know of any good links or resources on the net for things such as how to become a better leader, how to evaluate team performance, and how the effectiveness of teams contributes to the well-being of an organization etc.?

Man so check this out. I bought Saints Row 2 sometime in October or something, not long after it came out. A couple days later before I opened it, my stepdaughter takes a pic of herself with it and puts it on Myspace. I was wondering "wtf for?" but otherwise no big deal. Then the game goes missing, I can't find it for anything. I b**** at her a little bit because the game isn't where it should be with the rest of my Xbox games, and I have a 2-year old that routinely displaces and misplaces things and I pretty much assume that's why. A few days ago while I'm b****ing b/c I really want to play it, she asks me in an oddly defeated-sounding tone "What would you do if you couldn't find the game?" I said "be an asshole, and just keep b****ing until it's found."

Fast forward to today, and I'm looking for it everywhere and I still haven't found it but while looking through my Xbox game pile I happen to notice the first Saints Row is also missing and I don't know why. Out of pure curiosity, I go look on her Myspace and I see one of her friends from school has written "can I borrow dat" on 10 November. So, uhh, I hope that doesn't mean what I'm suspecting it means because it would make her:

-a dirty liar

-a thief

-seriously stupid as all f***

...I'd honestly rather my 2 year old have accidentally put it in the trash and lose out on 60 bucks than have my suspicion confirmed here.

Yeah, I'm afraid it's about to be ass whippin' time. I hate being the bad guy but if that's what it is, it can't and won't slide.

Questioning her and getting her to admit wrongdoing is like interrogating an Iraqi. She is a really awful liar (as evidenced by what looks like an orgy of evidence), but she is persistent and just keeps making new s*** up as she goes when she does it. So the key is to let her keep lying until her house of cards falls down.

Listen up fatos, going to the gym for 4 days after a holiday isnt going to make you skinnier, you didnt go before, and you wont go in a few weeks, just stay home and let the food take its course.

Same thing applies for the first 2 weeks of January.

Kids are stupid about things like that. My son only recently figured out how to erase the brower history. Although I have informed him that I can still find out where he goes because compared to him, I am a computer God, and then proceeded to show him on his computer where he had TRIED to hide some porn, and then recited the list of things said on hi Myspace page that he didn't know I knew about. STILL tried to insist that he didn't have anythign to do with the page, despite several specific messages on there between him and his girlfriend. Sometimes it just takes an aa whippin'. I simply removed everythgin from his room except the bed and 2 sets of clothes, which were also clothes he didn't like. My room and the office were pretty crowded with his desk, computer, guitar, etc. but he slowly earned it back, and either learned his lesson, or now hides stuff very well. I even had a friend who is a computer genius over last weekend take a look at it, and can't find anything that is new. Good luck, Lostfan. It aint easy being the bad guy.

lol. the reason she is allowed to have a myspace (she is 11), unbeknownst to her, is that she never remembers to log out so I spy on her conversations fairly regularly. Most of it is mindless 6th grade chatter.

The Fatos after the new years are the best. The ones who barely know how the machines work, and then instead of taking it easy use the person to their right or left as a gage for how fast to run. I look forward to the end of January, when the gym is back to normal and the new years fatos are back on their couch, a few dollars lighter in their pockets shoving a bucket of lard back into their mouth only to repeat the same thing next winter.

Spying on her electronic communications? Nope. She really has no right to privacy in that situation. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only parent that does that either.

Doesnt mean its right. I personally think kids need to be given some privacy, as there are other methods to dealing with the situation rather than spying on her.

YOu just b****ing and being an asshole about it probably doesnt scare her, as she can just lie her way out of it like she has done. Or so she believes that. Instead, take some more force in the situation and ground her, or take away myspace or what she does for fun until you get back what you think is fun (your game). Make her realize fairness, if she took your game then she should pay for it (literally, in that she should buy you a new one or you get something of hers). I know as a kid whenever my dad threatened to ground me or did some punishment like I had to work to recover something I did etc made me quite scared to do anything drastic or especially me losing what limited money I had anyways.

Actually, after this, I think I'm going to tell her that she's going to let me and her mother have access to everything she does on there or she's going to delete the account. Like I said, she has no right to privacy and she certainly hasn't earned it, and I see no reason whatsoever why I should trust her (there's been a couple of other, more minor incidents), so I'm going to tell her as much. In fact, even when she created her Myspace she was being sneaky about it b/c she knows she's supposed to be 13 to actually have an account. I don't even remember why I let her keep it but that was a mistake, I was too lenient. She thinks she can get away with so much... she doesn't realize she isn't as smart as she thinks she is yet.

When I told her I was going to be an asshole, this was a few days before I suspected her of (probably) lying and stealing. I was just mad b/c she was putting her hands on things that don't belong to her again, and that was the latest incident. This is much more serious and I'm thinking of an appropriate punishment, and it will be a pretty severe one.
