Now its like 60 degrees here. Having it be below zero on Monday night and now this warm has to be some kind of record.

It seems like tornado weather outside right now. Its calm, then my windows are rattling, back and forth. Hard rain, lots of melting snow. Its really ugly outside right now

I fly out to Chicago Tomorrow and am there through New Years...woo. I must say I hope like hell that I'll be able to get in and out okay though given the airport status.

You shouldnt have any problems, there isnt any precipitation predicted for tomorrow and all the ice and snow is pretty much melted now. Dont wear flip flops, see ya tomorrow dude.

Haha, can't wait to get out there. The girlfriend is super excited too and I even got a new winter coat for christmas to hopefully keep me warm. We have a layover in Cinncy so hopefully everything is okay there. I honestly don't know why we have to fly through cinncy but I actually pricelined the flight so I didn't exactly have options.

Yeah, its really strange. December has been the coldest on record, and now today it feels like May.

By the way...shipps, would you guys be interested in possibly hitting up a bhawks or Bulls game? I have no idea if they are even playing when I'm there but I've never been to the United Center before.

The Hawks arent in town except for the Jan 1st game at Wrigley, the Bulls play Wednesday afternoon at 200 against Orlando.I would love to go if we can get tickets. It might be sold out considering its NewYears eve though.

Ebay. I went to the bulls game on new years eve last year an I found some pretty cheap tickets.

Yeah, same here, it was like below zero for the longest time. Last night it was 48 at 1 AM with incredibly thick fog. I think 2008 in terms of weather for Iowa won't be topped for a while.

Yep, we were driving through that fog to the funeral and than to the airport.

Reading all this stuff about the horrible winter weather the past few weeks in Chicago and other northern areas has made me finally realize I don't want to move back north when I graduate. Ever since I moved to Tennessee 10 years ago, I've always wanted to move north when I was done with college. I love snow and miss seeing it. However, I like warm weather. I don't want to have to deal with bad weather conditions for a few months out of the year. It was awesome stepping outside yesterday and having it be 73 degrees with a slight breeze. I was in shorts and a t-shirt and felt like I could stand outside forever. It was a beautiful Texas day and it made me dread the end of Christmas break and having to head back to Knoxville, where it will undoubtedly be cold (for my standards) the next 2 months.

So, you want warm weather, but the ability to go be in snow during the winter?

Try someplace like CA, AZ or NM - still warm in winter, but you can get to snow in the mountains easily enough.

Holeeey s***, is it icy out there.

I called in to work after I tried to make it this morning and saw the salt trucks sliding sideways on the road.

Here's a pic from the local paper's website:

So I went out on Saturday Night with an Aussie Friend, and basically somehow he's going to a Debutante Ball today with a girl from St. Louis (don't ask me how).

And for some reason, she brought 3 of her girlfriends across, and well they were a lot better looking than most of girls I have seen around in New York.

So my question is, are all of the women in St. Louis this good looking (they were college seniors and all Cardinals' fans BTW).
