Balta1701
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 06:04 PM) Obama slowly pulling away from the pack. Not surprising that the movement would be pro-obama late. The early districts should have been more rural (less people and quicker, easier to count) while the latter ones should have been more urban and hence more Pro-O. Senator Barack Obama : 33.88% Senator John Edwards : 31.84% Senator Hillary Clinton : 31.60% Precincts Reporting: 889 of 1781 With more than half, that 2% lead is starting to get larger and larger. Heads22
I live in an elderly part of town, so I was surprised to see Obama do as well. Of course, the fact that me, my mom and my brother showed up got Obama that 6th delegate, which was kind of neat.
Balta1701
I must say, I am really, really impressed at how well the Iowa Democratic Party's results page has performed tonight, simply as a common online election watcher.

Balta1701
Some things worth noting...so far, it seems turnout is very high, which is in no small part why it seems Obama is taking it. The Obama campaign estimated 207,000 turned out, well over the number from 04. That is a very hopeful sign for November. Esp. if Barack is a big part of the reason. Also worth noting, there are reports that the youth vote actually did turn out for Barack, showing up at roughly 20-25% of the electorate, which is roughly its share of the population. And the reports are that the under-30 crowd went to Obama by like 5-1.
MurcieOne
Obama has run a pretty straight-forward campaign... and it has paid off for him tonight. I'm not what you would consider a liberal, but I've been impressed by what appears to be Obama's leadership qualities.

MurcieOne
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) McCain is getting his ass kicked. how do you figure that? the highest he was projected to finish in Iowa was 3rd... he's running 4th. New Hampshire is McCain's big chance, he's made a furious run there and has pulled into a statistical tie with Romney.
