Chisoxfn
Sox hired Ernie Young to be the batting coach in Great Falls. Young is a career minor leaguer who I think holds some minor league records and has been in the Sox system for a while now. He retired at the end of this past season as a player. Joe McEwing played for the Mets & Cardinals and will be the Charlotte Knights hitting coach.

southsideirish71
Now on to the more important business of getting a major league hitting coach.

Felix
I've always been a fan of Joe McEwing for some odd reason.
Metz
QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 5, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) I've always been a fan of Joe McEwing for some odd reason. probably cause he could just play anywhere and usually could hit there too
Jim Spencer
Besides Oakland, Ernie played a few games for Cleveland, Kansas City, Detroit and I believe Arizona. I'm not sure what minor league records he holds, but I remember hearing something about over 300 Homeruns. Now that he has retired, maybe BA can be the Knights DH

The Beast
Man, Young must have had a pretty steady job in the off-season to play in the minor leagues. I wonder how big his family is, that's got to be pretty rough as a career.
