Did anyone, and I mean anyone, predict this?

Well, when all the polls were showing Obama with a lead, Suffolk/WNHN showed a Clinton lead or a tie or close to it. They seemed to have it right.

Seems like Iowa and NH have shown us that the local polling organizations (DSM Register in Iowa's case) seem to be the most reliable.

That's what I've been thinking. Seems to me he is more aligned with Obama, but who knows.

They are both about change, but Obama tends to be less specific and extremely positive in the speeches I've seen, and Edwards tends to be more specific, and extremely angry in his speeches that I've heard.

I don't see that at all. Edwards is specific about his history and his upbringing, and about random people suffering, but he says absolutely nothing about policy. Obama is far more specific on that than Edwards or Clinton. The only candidate left for the Dems who is more specific on issues than Obama is Richardson.

AP calls it for Hillary.

And no this doesn't give Hillary the nomination. SC does.

The rule I was going by was that Clinton would win the nomination if she won either Iowa or N.H. And I still believe that. She was so far ahead in the majority of the Super Tuesday states that the only way to make a race of it was going to be to pound her down from the start. This will give her the nomination.

CNN doesn't want to call it yet because the college towns are still to go.

So Clinton's back as the favorite now I presume.

What does Obama have to do to win the nomination now? Win most of the upcoming major primaries I assume.

I don't think that winning Nevada and S.C. is going to be enough. Clinton will take Michigan, and even if Obama wins those 2, he still has to find a way to dent Clinton on Super Tuesday, and I don't think he'll be able to do that. Maybe if Edwards dropped out and endorsed him, but other than that.

Michigan has no delegates. And Obama isn't even on the ballot there.

NV is important for Obama, less so than SC though. If both these states keep them neck and neck however, we'll see this go through Super Tuesday. Clinton will win NY, probably NJ and CT as well... Obama will do well in IL, WI, MO and a large part of the South. Partially because of his IL roots, partially because he is African American and southern primaries for the Dems have a super high African American component, and partially because he does very well with church going Democrats, according to NH exit polls.

I think Clinton/Obama 08, Obama/Clinton 08 is becoming much more likely as this contest continues to draw on.

Trivia: Hillary Clinton now officially becomes the best performing woman candidate for President in US history. Who held this spot previously?
