So Pujols hits a liner off of Chris Young, and he has to leave the game. Then, on a play at the plate, he slides in hard to Josh Bard, and Bard probably tore his knee.

I knew somebody was going to make a Pods Joke. But for real, they figured to be one of the more explosive offenses in the game (I obviously thought so. I drafted three of them in my Soxtalk fantasy league).

They play the Cubs next week, so I'm sure you'll see plenty of complaining from me and Daa about them.

and its not even their offense thats been that bad...their pitching has been comical...

im beginning to really, really wonder if the NL is so bad we dont even realize it right now. Like maybe bad enough that the only above average teams are the cubs, dbacks, braves and phillies (i suppose maybe the mets)....i really think the cardinals, astros, marlins, and dodgers records are a product of the rest of the league being horrendous....

even assuming those teams are average (which i dont believe....kyle lohse? todd wellemeyer?? braden looper????) that still leaves SEVEN, YES COUNT THEM, SEVEN, terrible teams....nationals, reds, pirates, brewers (zero pitching, overrated offense), giants, rockies, padres

in the AL the worst teams are seattle royals and tigers....and you can bet that i think the tigers are a better team than those bottom seven teams, and i even think they are better than the dodgers and marlins...

i know the AL was only 22-19 in interleague last weekend, but i really think the AL will stretch it out by the end of the year

end rant..........for now

Edinson Volquez is by far my favorite Non White Sox pitcher to watch pitch right now. His stuff is absolutely SICK.

Yes he is and Iam sure Texas would love to have that trade back.I dont care how well Hamilton is doing,Texas needed to turn their pitching around and could have had a great start to doing that with Volquez.

Can somebody explain to me the disaster that has been the Colorado Rockies' offense? Four runs is basically an explosion for them.

No research, but I'm pretty sure the "make it to the world series, lose, and then suck" routine has been done before. And not that it means anything, but in my picks only the Giants ended up with a worse record in the NL West.

I dont know about that, Volquez still has control issues at some point this season he can very easily explode. Hamilton on the otherhand is going to be a beast at the plate as long as he stays healthy, he might just be the most talented player in the majors right now.

Anybody catch Randy Johnson today? 10 K's in 6 innings against a pretty good Atlanta lineup. He's now 5-1 with an ERA slightly over 4. He seems to be getting better with each start. If that back holds up, combined with the crap that is the NL, Arizona has a potentially devestating 1-2-3 at the top of their rotation. Good luck with that trio in the playoffs.

the Padres just played an 18 inning game. Those folks should really learn how to win or lose before the 10th.

Aaron Harrang pitced 4 inning of relief and struck out 9! Edinson Volquez came in and pitched the rest of the way for the Reds.

Adrian Gonzalez hit a 3 run blast in the 18t after the Reds 1st baseman bobbled a grounder with 2 out. Some pitcher named Banks for the Padres pitched 5 innings of relief. crazy

And Hamilton could very easily get hurt and miss a month too. Personally, I like Volquez over Hamilton, but they're both fantastic.

So a game in late May is that important to Dusty.....
