NorthSideSox72
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 05:01 PM) No longer the White Sox, but the Voyagers. Is it Voyagers, or Voyaguers? Seriously asking - there is a difference.
Balta1701
Minor league baseball fans in Great Falls will have a new team to cheer for this summer. The Great Falls Baseball Club Inc., announced Tuesday that the team is dropping the name of the White Sox and adopting the Voyagers as the new name. The team will continue to be affiliated with the Chicago White Sox organization. ADVERTISEMENT The new name was chosen from more than 1,000 possible nicknames, said General Manager Jim Keough, who along with team President Vinney Purpura announced the widely anticipated change at a press conference. Billboard advertising already is in place around town and a major public relations campaign is planned to promote the new name, team logo and a mascot to be announced later. Great Falls has operated a team in the Pioneer League for many years, but since 1969 the ballclub has been called by the name of the parent major league franchise. The team was called the Giants throughout the 1970s, then became the Dodgers in 1984, and was changed to the White Sox in 2003. NorthSideSox72
Does Great Falls have a lot of UFO sightings or something? Being in the Pioneer League, I think Voyaguers would have made a lot more sense.
scenario
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) Does Great Falls have a lot of UFO sightings or something? Being in the Pioneer League, I think Voyaguers would have made a lot more sense. Yeah, but when you're out in the hinterlands, you have to think about your audience. You're better off going with a phonetic spelling. Edited January 16, 2008 by scenario
