Controlled Chaos
I bought my wife a charm bracelet last xmas. It makes holidays like this a breeze. I'm buying a charm for her bracelet. For those married guys here, it's the way to go. If your wife isn't the charm bracelet type...convert here!!! You'll always have a gift to buy...even if you wait till the last minute...not that I do that or anything. southsideirish71
Luckily we don't do large gifts for Valentines day. We go out to eat usually the weekend before to avoid the crowds, and I give her flowers for Valentines day. My wife's birthday is a month later, so thats when I get raked over the coals for the big gift. The charm bracelet works very well. She has some other bracelet looking thing as well where stuff snaps on. The charms for that look like little squares. Kid Gleason
My wife and I go out to dinner, and that's about it. We might get each other something small, and I always make her a card, but that is all. We get candies and small trinkets for the kids too. That was always a tradition when I was a kid. My mom and dad always got me a small box of chocolate and a card.

retro1983hat
We don't exchange gifts on those days. Probably go to dinner the week before to avoid the crowd and the screwed up menus that restaurants put out. I hate it. You go wanting something specific and they have 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts.
Jimbo's Drinker
I bought her an engagement ring that she rocks on her finger. That should hold me over for until the wedding is over.

maggliopipe
QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) Probably go to dinner the week before to avoid the crowd and the screwed up menus that restaurants put out. I hate it. You go wanting something specific and they have 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. Yeah, this really messes it up for me. Feb 14 happens to be my special ladyfriend's birthday. Every year we go out to eat and the menu/crowds are really annoying, and we swear we won't do it again next year, but it just seems wrong not taking her out to eat on her birthday, so we go. It also complicates things gift-wise, although all things considered, that probably works out in my favor. I might have to look into this charm bracelet suggestion. Greg The Bull Luzinski
I'm an atheist when it comes to St. Valentine. It's another overhyped greeting card holiday. ... And besides, I'm married, why raise expectations to pre-marriage levels.
