Harry Chappas
While reading that I only missed the attendance guess last eveining by a couple of hundred people, what was the deal with the Great Lakes Naval recruits? I think this would be an awesome promotion that really should have been promoted, especially with the 4th and everything.
upnorthsox
It was, it was, they had something like 5000 comp tickets for last nights game used. What a great night to get a freebee.
CubKilla
what was the deal with the Great Lakes Naval recruits? According to Rooney and Farmer, they start basic training on 07/03 at 6 AM. The White Sox gave them and their families tickets to last nights game so they could spend the night together before, according to Rooney and Farmer, they left for Great Lakes on buses IN THE 7TH INNING!!!!! As big of a Sox fan as I am, if I was a recruit and I missed that ending, I'd have pulled a Private Pyle later on that night with my DI in the latrine BTW, last night was also Police and Fire Night. Cops and Firemen got tix half-price. Not sure if those above two were added to total "paid" attendance since both were a promotion. But everyone I know that went said there were more people there than what was announced as the paid attendance. Watching the highlights on SportsCenter, I know there was more than the announced attendance.
