We could have kept him if Armstrong wasn't on the 40-man for some mysterious reason or if KW didn't idiotically give Uribe 4.5 million.

And it would have made absolutely zero difference. Who the f*** cares about David Aardsma?

I'd rather keep a guy who has a good arm still with some potential over some crappy A ball catcher or some fat shortstop who can't even hit his weight.

Some people are happy unless they can be miserable with a move the Sox made.

I'm not miserable, I just think it would be a whole lot wiser to have held onto Aardsma. I wasn't expecting him to make the team, but perhaps he surprises and actually makes the team or he had a good spring training and could actually get us something for him via trade.

I'll agree to this one. There must be some personal issues or something else adding in to this move, otherwise I find it hard to believe that they'd move AAA at this point.

I would imagine Mr. and Mrs. Aardsma. I would much rather keep Masset, but if there's anyway Aardsma can come back to the Sox, whether it be AAA or whatever, I would love to see it. I still think he's got a good upside.

Only if no one else is willing to sign him once he hits waivers. And some team is almost certain to do that. Enough teams out there need bullpen help that he won't slip by everyone, unless there's some sort of gentlemen's agreement with a lot of teams.

I really liked Aardsma. Always cheered for him to do good just because of all the hate he got. In a Oakland game this past season in May I got his autograph that was sweet.

The same can be said about people liking Pods too.

I just remember seeing him come in last season with the bases loaded and striking out the side. I thought that was very cool. Thanks for that thrill, Aardsma.

That memory sticks out to most. Made El Duque wanna blush. David has damn good stuff minus his straight, but hard, fastball. Just got his mental midget head twisted. That Cubs series really f***ed him up.

Like they do with most pitchers?

It's pretty much the only option out of those 4

You know, I think eventually you guys are gonna wind up eating your words on this...not because I have a huge amount of confidence in any specific guy, but just off of the numbers. Any time you give me a group of 4 moderately talented guys who are all fairly young and have moved their way all the way up someone's system to AAA, if you ask me what the odds are that 1 of those 4 will be a solid success story even after some early struggles, I'd say those chances are pretty good. You may not like those guys now, but the odds are at least one of them is going to turn into a solid major league pitcher. Maybe more.

And I think the one it's going to be is Aardsma; all I've simply done at this point is said they suck right now (hence, Aardsma is the tallest midget of the 4), and that, right now, death is probably the same thing as picking one of those 4. The Sox are probably going to keep MacDougal because they gave up more to get him, but I thought Aardsma was better and think he will be a better reliever in the future. Kind of a weak head, but at the same time he's got stones; I think it's more a matter of maturation for Aardsma than anything else, and it's why I really hope he stays in the organization. I love his composure and think he's going to be a stud setup man someday. That's not this year.
