Heath Ledger Dies

Yeah it's sad news, especially down here.

He was one of our best exports for an actor. I think he first started in a local drama series, and then moved on to bigger and better things.

Obviously something happened after his breakup, I heard he was partying like crazy and hooking up with different woman.

RIP Heath.

"Surrounded by pills" doesn't necessarily sound like a drug problem - sounds like a suicide. He may or may not have been abusing.

Very sad. I really liked his acting a lot. So terrible at such a young age to lose such a great talent.

TMZ's reporting that cops say it was an accident.

No one could have predicted this.

When I heard Renfro died, I didn't think twice about it. It was almost something you'd expect to happen. However, this is very surprising; since Ledger was both a talented actor and devoid (to my knowledge) of any personal issues.

This is definitely be similar to River Phoenix in that people will always think of how much more he could have accomplished.

I really liked him. I even earned the nicknames "Brokeback" and "Heath Ledger" after dressing like a cowboy for a debate competition; instead of being insulted, I was proud.

This is awful news; sad to hear.

You know, it sure didn't take you long... it's always about you, isn't it? I'll just leave it there.

Meanwhile, RIP to him and prayers to his family.

I'm just glad Brokeback Pratt can soldier through this difficult time.

TMZ has an eerie picture of his body being removed from the hotel in a body bag.

It's odd how sad and shocking it is when this happens. I never met him, but hits you because he is someone you have seen a lot on TV or screen the past 9 years or so.

Man, that really sucks. My wife absolutely LOVES "A Knights Tale" and she introduced me to his work through that movie. He was a great actor. I am really looking forward to seeing him in The Dark Knight. It's especially sad if it is accidental. It's one thing to end your life purposefully, it a whole other thing to think you are taking a nap and then wake up on the other side of life.

Where have I been? I didn't even know Brad Renfro died. He was pretty good in Tom and Huck.

TMZ reporting Heath had pnemonia and the pills he took may mixed with the sickness. Maybe not OD.

With all the stories floating around I am going to wait on the autopsy. I really hope it was an accident or something like that. I got into him from "A Knight's Tale." He was good in "The Patriot" and the "10 things" movie. I cannot wait for the new batman movie.

Brain had me trying get one of the movie posters today and the prices jumped from $35 to $85 on one movie poster site I was checking out.

R.I.P. Heath.

Absolutely awful. I was really shocked when I heard about this. Just not the type of guy you'd expect to die like this... I love "10 Things I Hate About You" and thought he was great in that. Gonna be weird watching that movie now.

A guy on the Today show said that Ledger was really into his Joker character. Joker is a "schizophrenic mass murder", as he described the character and while filming fought through depression and had problems sleeping and had sleeping pill perscribed to him.

I'll always remember him from 'A Knight's Tale'

:notworthy

Me and my wife love that movie, its a guilty pleasure. If you watch the movie past the credits, there is a funny outtake which is rather crude

Perhaps the strangest celebrity reaction has come from Jack Nicholson. When photographers broke the news of Ledger's death to the veteran actor -- who also played The Joker -- in London last night, Nicholson simply said, "I warned him."

I just shivered a little.

This subject was discussed by Daniel Day-Lewis recently as well - he was really into his character from There Will Be Blood, who is not a nice man. He said he had a hard time shaking out of that character. I really think that good actors, like musicians and artists, are a special breed - and they usually aren't entirely stable personalities. If they were, they probably couldn't transform themselves into these characters so fully.
