Old Baseball Proverb

Every MLB team wins 42 games and loses 42 games. It's what you do with the other 78 that matters.

With the Sox at 42-42, I'd say that Old Baseball Proverb speaks incredibly true. Time for the White Sox to make the best of an "easy" July schedule and, more importantly, make the best of the next 78 games!!!!! :headbang

Taken right out of Moneyball. Oakland tries to figure how much each win they get above the 42 games costs them. They want their cost per win above 42 to be cheaper than everyone else's, while still winning enough to make the playoffs.

That was a real interesting part of the book.

The only chapter that I didn't like was the one on Bill James, but thats cause I'm not a stat guy what-so-ever and hearing about every freaking edition of the books he made didn't interest me.
