BigSqwert
I wish I hadn't read that "Theory on Lost" website yesterday. Kinda ruined the mystery of the show. I felt less enthused as I watched last night.
Soxbadger
Okay so here is my theory on Locke/Richard and the selection thing: Did anyone get the weird Dali Lama reincarnation vibe? If anyone watches King of the Hill, there is a episode where they think Bobby is the Dali Lama. Monks from Tibet come and give him items to select from, only one of those items actually belonged to the Dali Lama. It is the idea that the Dali Lama is reincarnated and therefore he would know which item "belonged to him." I felt the test Richard gave was the exact same idea, that Locke was a reincarnated version of something and Richard wanted Locke to pick the item that had belonged to his former self. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalai_Lama Upon the death of the Dalai Lama and consultation with the Nechung Oracle, a search for the Lama's reincarnation, or yangsi (yang srid), is conducted. Familiarity with the possessions or attributes of the previous Dalai Lama is considered the main sign of the tulku. The search for the reincarnated mindstream typically requires a number of years. The reincarnated being is then installed and trained by the other Lamas. It is interesting that Locke and Benjamin would be right about the same age, so perhaps they were both chosen as likely successors, just no one was sure which one. (Then there is the whole black rock white rock that was in the first season that has never reappeared and the whole backgammon connection.) Harry Chappas
A couple of things that tick me off. First off the show is great. How did smokey not kill the mercinaries? I still am not into that outcome although I am getting over it. The black guy pushing the wheel chair appeared to be working for Dharma but I got the impression last night that he contradicted his previous role in his conversation with Locke. Claire? I am thinking she is still alive and missing and that is why Aaron leaves the island with Kate and now Jack wants to go back. I think the cabin allows a person to kind of have visions of a sort. Ben may have lost this ability to "see thing" and Locke may now have it. The Locke flashback was confusing as hell as I was not certain why it took so long for him to get to the island. Why does the Rambo dude let Desmond and Sayid just hang around? Desmond can get off the island as he is not an Oceanic survivor, hence not an Ocanic 6 but yet an island survivor. I think the black guy with Locke (that we've previously seen with Naomi) actually works for Widmore not Dharma. Maybe they know that in the future John will be useful to them on the island. That's why he encouraged the 'Walk-about' idea. I think Rambo is too focused on his job to worry much about Sayid and Desmond at this point....though i'm curious as to what he had strapped to his arm last night. Could it be something to help him find Jacob's cabin????? I'm still unsure about Claire being dead or not. They seem to be dropping alot of hints that she is dead....maybe they aren't too sure either. Smokey probably did kill a few of the mercenaries....injured a few as well...we just didn't see the dead ones. Overall it was an interesting episode considering that Alpert has been watching Locke since he was born...and what was up with that test last night??? i will have to rewatch it tonight when i'm not so distracted. He told him 305, and it was 325. 325 was what Ben gave Michael and Walt to find rescue, correct? Do you think the freighter is what rescued them? I'm curious if we have seen the last of Walt. 305 could be from a different spot. I'm not familiar with how all that works. The last thing that Abaddon said to Locke was that he would owe him in the future, or something to that effect. After tonight's episode and the previews for next week, I'm pulling a Mariotti and flip flopping. I think Jin will be killed by Reamey. That guy is relentless. HuskyCaucasian
LOST will get one more hour each of the next two seasons.. Remaining "Lost" seasons extended by two hours ABC has found more hours for the final two seasons of "Lost." The 2009 and 2010 editions of the hit drama will be 17 hours each -- not 16, as previously planned. ABC has added two hours to the show's production plan because the Writers Guild of America strike knocked three hours out of the current season. To partly compensate, the network recently added an additional hour to Part 2 of the season finale that airs May 29.

southsider2k5
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 2, 2008 -> 09:41 AM) The reason I say it was was Jacob is the screen caps that have been posted when Ben and Locke "meet" Jacob for the 1st time. At one point, there is a body is the chair. It looks very similar to the same guy. It is Jack's dad. I checked the screencaps for it. BobDylan
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 9, 2008 -> 02:37 PM) No, we are talking about different things. The time Hurley looks into the cabin, it's Christian. However, when Locke and Ben are together in the cabin, trying to talk to Jacob(Which is an empty chair), there is a split second that there is a body in the chair. The guy shown in the chair for a split second, if I remember right, was acted by Dennis Hopper. No?
Brian
I just read that we will find out who was in the casket it the season finale. So we have an episode on the 15th, than the 2 hour season finale on the 29th. We don't know how far in the future the "funeral" was, so it could be anybody. Any guesses/reasoning? Brian
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 10, 2008 -> 11:31 AM) Brian, I edited your post. That is the type of thing we probably want to have spoiler tags around. Something that is supposed to happen in the future, and giving an exact date for it. Some people want to be surprised. No big deal, just for future reference. My bad. I thought we were under an "Enter thread at your own risk" type thing now. I'm confused.
