I'm supposed to go to the game tomorrow night, but apparently the weather doesn't want me to see a good Sox game this year. My first game was postponed due to rain against Baltimore, my second was a near-2 hour rain delay again Minnesota (and then Buerhle got hit around a bunch), and now its supposed to storm tomorrow night.

Eh, for Friday night's game, they are saying "scattered" thunderstorms. Typical summer night type weather, it will be hit and miss. Even if it does storm, it won't last long, probably.

I'l be going to that game as well.

Yeah, we appear to be firmly entrenched in Chicago summer now, hot and humid and hazy. The weather almost becomes irrelevant at this point (it was supposed to POUR Tuesday and Wednesday and both games were played without delay or incident), just realize it's going to be warm and it might rain at some point, but it'll probably clear up eventually. Not going to see much more "rain out" type rain this season.

I saw some idiot throw a home run back the other night. The good news is a lot of people told the ushers of this nonsense, and he was thrown out.

DO YOUR PART!! If you see some assclown throw a home run by the other team back, find an usher and identify the assclown. We don't want losers who throw home run balls back instead of giving it to a kid. The Cell isn't Wrigley, so don't throw s*** on field, especially baseballs.

That would actually be a good marketing ploy...advertise how Sox fans can separate themselves from Cubs fans by letting the game continue to play and helping out a little kid too.

3 reasons to be extremely optimistic about the offense

BABIPs Thome: .238 Konekro: .219 Swisher: .243

they should get better for sure

also, all have a great BB rate...thome and swisher always do, but konerko is on pace for the best in his career

It also helps to mention average BABIP is usually around 290-300

Correct, and when you consider the fact that Swish, Konerko, and Thome can still hit the ball hard, their BABIP's all are due to go up quite a bit. Hopefully this process of the offense reverting to what it really should be has started here this week, because we've looked good.

NY Times rates ballparks' food and says what to get and what to avoid.

For the Cell, they say "avoid: everything"

I thought the park was known for having good food/ concessions?

If you read the comments, the author is called out to a degree.

I've been to a few ballparks. The Cell's food is better than most, in my experience. To say that its all bad at the Cell is a joke.

For starters, both Wrigley Field and U.S. Cellular Field serve Best Kosher hot dogs, vastly inferior to the meatier Vienna Beef brand that the city’s best hot dog vendors serve. But even worse was the Mexican-style corn sold at a pastel yellow stand decorated with a manic-looking anthropomorphized corncob at U.S. Cellular. The corn, scraped from the cob, was mushy, overcooked and seasoned with a mixture of chili, mayonnaise and imitation lime juice that made the dish taste like furniture polish.

Goes to Chicago and orders corn. OK.

And doesn't like Best Kosher? First, I think Best Kosher is better, second, can't you get Vienna at the Cell?
