The Obama campaign points out that that request was before he and the GOP nominee had held any debates, whereas the Democrats have already had maybe 20 so far. Prior to a single debate ever having taken place. How many debates has there been? Debates do Obama no good at this point in time while they did Hillary no good when running for office in NY. How'd that IL campaign work out for Ryan BTW....... Edited February 7, 2008 by Jenks Heat
Balta1701
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:44 PM) She's only out for herself To be fair, what else should she be doing other than looking out for herself at this point? If she thinks it helps her campaign to have more debates, why not call for more debates? It's not like that's some dirty underhanded trick. Hell, Kerry called for Bush to debate "every week" until the election back in 04. The Bush admin laughed it off, but there's nothing untidy about this. iamshack
Well, he and Hillary have only had one 1-on-1 debate thus far. And I'm not saying anything negative about either position. Just trying to be fair.

Also note: Back then not a lot of people knew about them.It wasnt a nationally covered election. In this case, seriously, if you havent seen where they stand from the 18 debates they have held and the ENDLESS media coverage of these two, you shouldn't vote. Ok, that's a bit extreme, but you get my point. Debating 5 times between now and March 5th is INSANE. Pull up BarackObama.com or HillaryClinton.com. Watch CNN. Watch MSNBC. Do some hme work. Dont rely on a ruch of debates to form your opinion.

HuskyCaucasian
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Reason 7830 I dislike Hillary... http://tinyurl.com/2fl7eg Great response on Digg... There's a pattern here. -- Hillary favored allowing voters in Nevada to caucus in casinos until she lost a major union endorsement, and then she and Bill supported disenfranchising those voters. She agreed with all the other candidates to no-compete rules for Florida and after scoring more votes in... (well, we don't really know what to call it) she sought to change the rules--backwardly. She agreed not to debate on Fox, and now she's gone back on that word too. - Her word means nothing.
iamshack
Well, I'm no Hillary supporter, but let's not pretend like candidates or politicians have never changed their minds to suit their best interests in campaigns. And don't you think the whole "her word is no good" thing is a bit over dramatic? Obama does not need the mudslinging to win this thing... And yes, I do think another debate or two would be helpful, because quite honestly, they are very similar policy-wise, and two, now that we have just the two frontrunners left, it might be best for the public to be able to concentrate on just the two of them, rather than them filtering-out some of what might have been said in earlier debates because they might have been in favor of another candidate who has since dropped out. Texsox
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) Landlord: Clinton staff stiffed me on rent Pretty common with every campaign. The accounts payable job is huge and not really a key factor in getting someone elected. When I was Editor of my college newspaper, we only rans ads with up front money. This story will be repeated dozens and dozens of times, from local to national. What makes it fun is the partisan comments from the opponents that try and make it the BIGGEST THING EVER! Err, wait, I mean this is why we should not elect a Democrat this cycle. This is so typical of Democratic behavior. McCain '
Texsox
This is pretty funny sqwert Obama had $923,000 in unpaid bills. Candidates often delay paying bills to create the perception that they have more money. And what partisan site did I find that gem? http://www.barackobama.com/2007/07/16/small_donors_give_big_to_obama.php

Does she have an original thought? I guess imitation is the best form of flattery. Change is a new campaign slogan Btw, any thoughts on Obama not paying his bills on time? BigSqwert
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) Change is a new campaign slogan No one claimed that Obama made it up but he's been using it as a slogan since last February when he announced his candidacy. She started using it when her polls were slipping and Obama's were starting to rise. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) I'm not even a Hillary fan, but your petty attacks is pushing me away from Obama in a hurry. So let me get this straight. You would consider not voting for Obama because of some random guy on a White Sox message board? Great rationale I must say. EDIT: I have a feeling you might react like me if all of a sudden Barack or Hillary started campaigning in a shuttle bus with the words "Straight Talk Express" on the side of the bus. They all have huge flaws for me. I tend to agree somewhat although Obama has less flaws for me than the others. I also think there's something to say about his ability to inspire so many people including young voters. When was the last time the youth came out in such numbers? I honestly feel he can do a good job of uniting this country. Call me naive or whatever else but that's how I feel. I also think our standing in the world would go up a few notches with an Obama presidency. I've read too many glowing articles from abroad to convince me otherwise.
