knightni
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) Someone got a picture of Rick Pitino's all-white suit tonight? He changed it at halftime, kind of funny (odd?)... It was pretty damn hilarious hearing the late night SportsCenter guys doing Tony Montana/Scarface references all through that highlight. JuiceCruz16
Q. Thomas is helpless trying to run this uptempo running game and pressure dee style, I almost feel bad for him. I'm glad Ty is staying out if he is not 100%, he is the engine for both sides of the ball and as much as another ACC loss hurts it's nowhere near as important as being full force when he returns. Barring a Clemson collapse the streak should be over and that's fine, just get well TY. Without him they are a middle of the pack team.
Palehosefan
Oh my God, what an effort. Down 15 a few times and going into OT. I can't take this.
JuiceCruz16
Wow OT! Clemson has no buisness not being in the locker room with a W by now. If UNC can steal this one they should thank their lucky stars. Make that a double! Edited February 11, 2008 by JuiceCruz16
Palehosefan
Ok, Tyler isn't the most talented college basketball player in the nation. But there's not a better one. He just puts the team on his back with his effort, scoring, rebounding, and free throw shooting. He's averaging 23 and 11 now after his 39 point, 13 rebound effort tonight. Amazing player. JuiceCruz16
That's about as tough as it gets for Clemson. To break the all time record of consecutive loses at one place in a game they controlled. They can't afford to have a hangover from this letdown or they risk missing the NCAA. As for my Heels they battled and Ty got to rest his bum ankle, I can't ask for more. Hansborough was big time as usual, and Danny Green knocked down the big three's down the stretch, hopefully he can get his stroke back. UNC should feel very fortunate, but they showed a great deal of heart to comeback and battle to victory. JuiceCruz16
QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Definitely. Besides hype, all Gordon really has going for him has been straight scoring, but he really hasn't been playing well and has had a lot of turnovers. D.J., on the other hand, is still second in the conference in scoring and first in rebounding (by a large margin) and has led this team all season, not Gordon. His ball handleing looks to be hampered by his hand injury, which has slowed his penetration game down. EJ is probably the best player in the big 11, but I agree DJ is probably the player of the year at this point.
Rex Hudler
DJ White is by far and away the Big Ten Player of the Year. He is IU's best player this year period. DJ has been the Big Ten Player of the Week 4 times already this year. Gordon is a great player and a great scorer. But DJ White has been much more important to this team this year. After about the 5th game of the year, he has been playing like an absolute beast. This is what we always expected of him, but he had never delivered. In fact, you might argue that he has been better than IU fans hoped he would be. His consistency has only made his performance that much more unbelievable. He's the most talented in the conference, but he's not the best player. It's clear that he's still got a lot of learning to do. DJ White is the best player in the conference. He's all around solid. Gordon looked like a fish out of water, but White was an unstoppable force down low. I mean, I haven't watched IU much, only having seen their game versus us and the one against the Badgers, but White has looked much, much better than Gordon (who I agree needs to go back to college next year, although he won't). whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 10, 2008 -> 05:16 AM) UCLA says hi. They are the team to beat in the NCAA and they are straight up built for the tourney. They looked good today against a TERRIBLE Washington team..... Anyways, UCLA still doesn't have a guy that can create and score his own shot on a consistent basis. They play great defense and are very well coached, which when you have the type of talent UCLA has can get you a long way, but they aren't winning a national championship until they recruit a scoring wing type player to their program (and no, Afflalo wasn't that type, couldn't create his own shot as we saw twice against Florida especially). Yeah that's true, just because he never impresses me when I see him doesn't make his 15 points per game not count. He actually had a good game today too, and I'll admit UCLA just doesn't impress me and I was getting on Gage's SoCal bias.
ZoomSlowik
For whatever reason over the past few years UCLA just seems to have these games here and there where they can't score. It doesn't make much sense this year, they have two very solid options in Love and Shipp as well as two other capable scorers in Collison and Westbrook. They've proven that the way they play defense they can beat essentially anyone (with the obvious exception of Florida the last two years), but games like the last one against Washington do make you hesitate a bit. They'll still be in my Final Four barring an absolutely horrendous draw, and I won't rule out having them go farther.

Heads22
Gage, and other Big Ten followers....you may be surprised to hear this, but I believe Alex Thompson deserves to start for ISU right now. He's been pretty damn good on defense, and he's not looking so retarded out there anymore.

Rex Hudler
The most overrated team in college basketball will find out what they are really worth in the next 8 days. After surviving road games at Illinois and Ohio State, IU faces Wisconsin, Michigan State and Purdue at home - a tough 7 day stretch! Wed Feb. 13 vs. Wisconsin Sat Feb. 16 vs. Michigan St Tue Feb 19 vs. Purdue Michigan State and Purdue go head to head tomorrow night, Tue Feb 12. The Big Ten title picture may become quite a bit clearer in the next week.

Maybe I am the only one that sees it, but when watching that highlight, I saw the foul and had no problem with the call. The problem is, a human cannot react as quickly as tenths of seconds on a clock so the call comes in later. And if that's not enough, any team wearing those ugly assed pink uniforms, regardless of how good their cause is, SHOULD get screwed. UGH

Big win for Texas, KU just never seemed to get a rhythm, and they got pounded late on the boards again. Some were pretty wild loose ball rebounds, but Texas seemed to come flyin' in with some clutch put back dunks.

And if that's not enough, any team wearing those ugly assed pink uniforms, regardless of how good their cause is, SHOULD get screwed. UGH Two comments on the calls tonight. The ref who made the call in the Georgetown game should be ashamed of himself. First of all there is no chance G'Town gets a shot off there and there was little if any contact there. That isn't even a foul with 4 minutes left let alone .1 seconds. I've only seen the Tennessee game once but there was clearly a foul. However, it did look like the clock stopped before the foul actually occurred. Edit: Just saw it again. There is almost no doubt that the clock would have run out before the foul if it wouldn't have stopped with .2 seconds left.
