South Alabama will be in, and Gonzaga and St. Mary's are in also. I'm worried about the Valley not getting ISU in because they've been calling us a one bid league all year, but i dont know how you can keep illinois state out. That blowout by Drake in the final could bite them, lets hope it doesn't. Watch out for South Alabama though, these guys are good, same with Western Kentucky, who should be in even if they lose tonight. Courtney Lee is a freak.

I think they should be in but it is easy to see how you can keep ISU out. Last year Illinois was one of the last teams in the tourney and they had a higher RPI, no bad losses, and 3 wins that were significantly better than anything ISU has. ISU hasn't beaten a single tourney team this season and has 4 bad losses. The only thing they have going for them is that they performed pretty well in a decent conference and their RPI.

Illinois State will be left out. I personally think they're deserving based on the "eye" test but you look at their resume and there is pretty much nothing there that says they should be in. 0-5 against the top 50 is an absolute killer.

We need Creightons RPI to jump from 51 to 50 somehow here over the week. Which is just stupid.

I hate them.

Understandable, that 35 footer might have killed your season. But I enjoy watching them, plus I'm biased because I have a friend that gets decent minutes off the bench for them, so I kind of have to like them.

Woot Woot....Fullerton into the semi's. Just got back and good god do they have some shooters on the squad. Defensively they had some miscues and they should have won by about 25 (instead won by a lot less) but I'm feeling like they may just have a chance to win this tourney.

Unfortunately I'll be lucky enough to hit up the Pac 10 tourney tomorrow (USC/UCLA will be awesome and I"m hoping for a WSU/Stanford being the other game I see tomorrow) but if the Titans win I can't wait to go bakc to a 3000 person arena and do some more smack talking.

The defending national champs see their bubble go pop, as Alabama defeats Florida. I'd be beyond shocked if the Gators make it in.

Florida was on the outside looking in before tonight. Glad to see them gone.

Seems like nobody wants to play in the tournament this year. So many bubble teams losing early in their conference tournaments.

Arizona

Arizona State

Baylor

Dayton

Florida

Maryland

Massachusetts

Ole Miss

Oregon

Villanova

Makes me feel a little more confident about Illinois State's chances.

More bubbles potentially busting tonight:

Oregon

Arizona

Mississippi

Maryland

Massachuesetts

New Mexico

The committee has a VERY tough job ahead of them, moreso than any year I can remember because so many bubble teams are blowing great chances to distinguish themselves. I'd bet one or two of those teams might still end up getting in even with their losses today.

EDIT: The Bones beat me to it. Ah well.

Bubbles only pop because other teams succeed. When they all are blowing games, the bubble effect doesn't really come into play. Ultimately, all of those teams will be considered and many will make it. Since few teams seem to be stepping up, then some teams are going to be able to thank other schools for sucking!

Yesterday's losses by bubble teams gave Illinois State TWO RPI top 50 wins, as Creighton moved from 51 to 49 and the Redbirds swept them.

Stuff like that is why I love the big dance. And indeed, congrats to Arkansas and St. Joe's, two bubble teams who actually manned up and got big wins to earn their spots in the dance.

This is just me thinking out loud but with the shape of the bubble this year, the more I think about it, the more I think there might be a big time surprise who slips into the tournament, kind of like Air Force a few years back.
