Interesting comments on the Indiana/Illinois "rivalry". Being a IU hater from Indiana, there fans are mainly responsible for me becoming a die hard Carolina fan after the s*** talking I received for backing the Heels as a youngster only to see them lose to the Isiah led Hoosiers in the 1981 championship game (that one still stings). I do agree with the statement that Illinois is not a "rival" of IU. They are a big ten team so when they are good they are a rival for that time period, but in the long run PURDUE, and Kentucky are the only year in year out rivalry teams.

Carolina vs. Duke & N.C. State are rivals. Maryland, Wake, Virginia etc, are conference rivals but not year in year out. Now most team in the ACC considers UNC somewhat a key rival, but like Illinois/Indiana that only goes one way for many years unless it is a battle for the league championship..

Drake is unreal, it's amazing how good they are. Oh, and it's amazing what happens when you give Rodney Alexander a fair shot to play some real minutes, isn't it Bruce? Too bad you had to continue your losing this team and suspend Pruitt for some mystery reason, what a joke. At least NIU beat mighty Ball State, lol.

Man that was truly awesome. Gillispie is an insanely good coach.

Eh, Tennessee hugely beat themselves. Can't wait till KY comes to Thompson-Boling. Let's see how well Gillispie can coach then... Anyway, hope Kentucky has fun battling the rest of the year for a NIT bid.

Yeah, he's been doing amazingly with Kentucky so far this year. I mean, look at really, it's not like they lost at home to San Diego or anything ridiculous like that.

He's no Tubby! Gardner Webb?

In other news I hope my Heels can get back into the swing of things, or they will get another "L" slapped on them tonight when they travel into the Hurricane. Miami can be dangerous at home.

Nope, I'm a grad of Ball State, just followed Carolina closely for the past 30 years, so they are my Heels, just like they are my Sox, and my Bears , etc.

Just don't expect a damn thing from recruiting, and you should be ok.

As I've said before, we've already got a top 25 recruiting class coming in next year (with the commitments coming after an abysmal 9-22 season last year), which includes the top Canadian recruit in Devoe Joesph and Ralph Sampson III. Recruiting at Minnesota is much easier than it is in Kentucky, and one of the biggest issues is seeing top Minnesota talent continuously go to border states (namely Wisconsin and Iowa, those bastards).

With Tubby, Wisconsin and Iowa aren't going to be able to swoop in and grab everything that fancies them, and thats a big step in the direction of getting a more talented team here in Minnesota.

Five hours. I urge people to support everyone's favorite mid major playing major college athletics, Iowa State.
Then go Ball State, and IUPUI where one of my players I coached is the starting point guard.

Speaking of the Cyclones.... (good luck tonight, I reckon youre gonna need it)

I always wondered why carry a nickname like the Cyclones and then have a mascot that looks exactly like a Jayhawk rip-off?? :bang :huh

ROCK CHALK.

Cause our mascot is a cardinal. We've only once been able to get a tornado to show up.

Ahh, ESPN Classic. Chenowith is a Chenob****.

Chenoworthless??? I saw him again at dMb show last summer and almost spilled my beer I laughed so hard. I get reminded of his crappy soft game every time I tune in to see David Padgett play for Louisville.

PS- Fair enough on the Cardinal, it still looks a lot more similar to a Jayhawk than it does a Cyclone. ;)

Our mascot is a bird, our nickname is a tornado, and our logo is a letter.
