TheBigHurt
They had no chance of winning the WS last year, so I can't see it happening this year, either. They have a good team, but not a WS team, IMO.
Melissa1334
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Feb 14, 2008 -> 01:45 PM) They had no chance of winning the WS last year, so I can't see it happening this year, either. They have a good team, but not a WS team, IMO. i would take the mets over the cubs, i dont think any nl team has a chance against whichever team in the al goes to the world series. zambrano, lilly, hill, marquis, etc doesnt exactly scare me. u think they would learn bcuz what zambrano said last year lol, morons Edited February 14, 2008 by Melissa1334

I agree, they definitely have a shot. However, i would not want to hear one of the White Sox players calling their shot like that.

Kyyle23
You cannot count out the World Series runner-up Rockies either, I guess

Orlando Hudson 2B 3. Eric Byrnes LF 4. Mark Reynolds 3B 5. Conor Jackson 1B 6. Stephen Drew SS 7. Justin Upton RF 8. Chris Snyder

Orlando Hudson 2B 3. Eric Byrnes LF 4. Mark Reynolds 3B 5. Conor Jackson 1B 6. Stephen Drew SS 7. Justin Upton RF 8. Chris Snyder They do still have a couple things going for them. Several of those guys that they need to break through are unbelievably talented...Upton, Drew, Young, etc. And on top of that, they've massively upgraded their pitching staff going basically from Livan Hernandez to Dan Haren. You're right though, they can't have a negative run scoring rate and count on luck to carry them again this year.

WilliamTell
I think whoever wins the NL West is going to come out on top for the National League. I'm picking them because I don't trust the Mets and most people are picking the Mets. The NL West is crazy with having 4 different teams going to the playoffs in the past 2 years. I like the Dodgers winning the NL West and eventually going to the World Series unless the NL West gets the Wild Card again, then I'll go with the Diamondbacks, Rockies, or Padres, whoever gets it because a Wild Card team always gets into the World Series. If so, Webb, Johnson, Haren is as tough a 1-2-3 as any team in either league.

I agree. I really like the rockies and the padres and dbacks pitching might be the best in the NL. And then the dodgers will have a competitive team. The mets have an easy road but I think when they'll face the NL west team they'll lose it.
