You know it is, I'm blaming him for this cold and snowy Iowa winter myself.

Global warming, global Cooling ... It's Bush's fault, regardless ... or is it irregardless? What's the difference?

Canada to recognize Kosovo independence, Serbia recalling ambassador

OTTAWA - Serbia is recalling its ambassador after being informed that Canada will announce Tuesday that it is recognizing Kosovo as an independent state.

...

Canada has remained mum on the issue partly because recognizing a unilateral declaration of independence could allow Quebec separatists to claim they could leave Canada the same way - with a one-sided declaration.

There have also been fears it would provoke anger among Canada's small, but vocal, Serbian ethnic community. There have been numerous protests across the country since the declaration.

Canada was part of a NATO force that intervened militarily in the province in 1999 to stop Serbian attacks on the civilian population.

Wow. That's gutsy. I wonder how long it will take for Quebec to start up their cries for independence?

Well there are always calls for independence in Quebec. But I'd argue this is not a huge deal because the situation in Quebec mirrors that of Kosovo very little. Plus the separatist movement in Quebec has been on the wane for a few years now. A federalist (pro-unity) party has been in power since 2003, and the separatist party has backed away from holding a referendum if they return to power.
