fathom
Angelo would never trade draft picks for a player. He values draft picks more than any other GM in football.

SoxFan1
That was a REALLY bad onside kick.

maggsmaggs
Could that have been a worse onside kick? Gould is the leastr of our problems though.
nitetrain8601
ROFLS. You could tell it wasn't going to bounce because he even kicked it soft.

SoxFan1
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) Except he did it last year for Archuleta. Quite a difference giving up a 6th rounder compared to a 1st AND 3rd. IF he does keep it, we'd have to hope Jeremy Maclin was on the board. Though, knowing Jerry Angelo, he'd probably draft a defensive tackle or something.

I'd rather we traded down into the 1st, picked up another 3rd and a 6th, then drafted Kenny Britt out of Rutgers. I don't want to go out on a limb, but his size and skills are similar to Andre Johnson. 6'4 220, good hands, great size (obviously), and very physical. SoxFan1
If I'm Jerry Angelo, I'd trade all my draft picks for players. Boldin, McNabb, O and D linemen, etc.

That's where he would have to get creative. Cut the players you think are expendable and get the young guys in there to replace them. The most popular one seems to be the Vasher/Graham swap. Maybe let go of Ogunleye and give Anderson the other DE spot.

Cut the players you think are expendable and get the young guys in there to replace them. The most popular one seems to be the Vasher/Graham swap. Maybe let go of Ogunleye and give Anderson the other DE spot. That DE move would be really bad. Anderson is not an every down DE, no matter how much Babich wants to use him on running downs. He really ought to be a passing down specialist. After the year he's had, I'm not sure of the cap implications of dropping Vasher, but if it saves a decent chunk you'd have to. I'd imagine that since he was only extended recently though that it probably won't save much until at least 2010 if you drop him.

Yeah, I agree with both of your points, but these very well could be moves made this offseason. Ogunleye is much better vs the run, but he was almost a non-factor this year. Vasher, I'm actually a fan of, and if you keep him, Graham becomes an awesome nickel back.
Rowand44
What makes this even more painful is Philly is up 2 td's and Tampa lost. Ouch.
