whitesoxbrian
I feel for 3 guys on Dallas- Romo, Ware, and Barber. Not a fan of that team. They sure do get tons of publicity for being a medicore team.

Team needs a shakeup. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 05:24 PM) Haha, it's getting worse. I find it funny that a Bears fan finds some humor out of this.... daa84
i dont feel for dallas at all....that team is absolutely loaded with talent, and they piss it all away... top 3 (maybe best) TE in the league, 2 top flight WR and a solid couple others great RB trio of barber, jones, choice a qb that is a top 10 in the league the best pass rusher in the league in ware plus guys like Newman, Hamlin, and Williams in the secondary (i know, injured) who have played in the pro bowl as recently as last year how a team with so many offensive weapons (plus an O line with pro bowlers in Adams, Gurode and Davis), and so much talent on defense doesn't even make the playoffs is way beyond me Edited December 29, 2008 by daa84
SoxFan1
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) I find it funny that a Bears fan finds some humor out of this.... Bitter much? DAL is one of the most talented teams in the league, was considered a Super Bowl contender, and had control of its OWN destiny. The Bears needed help to get into the playoffs and still beat expectations anyway. Not only do I find humor in it, I think its hilarious and I'm enjoying every bit of it. I hate Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. Maybe they can get Chad Johnson this offseason? Maybe Rodney Harrison too.

T R U
How awesome is it that Favres last play in an NFL game is him gettin blasted trying to make an illegal forward pass off a pitch? And how do the Browns finish their last 6 games without scoring an offensive touchdown? That seems almost impossible to me.

More than one Bear said "Houston just wanted it more than we did today". Really? Are you serious? You had the playoffs on the line, and the Texans "wanted it more?" What a tremendous franchise. Well, I know Kevin Payne was one of them, but then he quickly corrected himself by saying "...Well maybe not more then us, but definitley played like it". dasox24
If the Bears could somehow sign Albert Haynesworth to put next to Tommie Harris next year, that would be my 1st move in the off-season. Highly unlikely for a couple reasons, and the Bears will say "we don't want to invest too much in one position," but in all honesty, it would made our defense dominant again. Now before all of you go crazy b/c the Bears always seem to draft DT's, I know where you're coming from. I would not be in favor of drafting BJ Raji in the 1st round or anything like that. But, if we had to opportunity to sign the Defensive POY, then we should do it. If you take a guy who's huge and take up 2 blockers consistently like Haynesworth, not only will it free up Urlacher and Briggs more, but can you imagine the havoc Tommie Harris would wreak if he only faced a single blocker on almost every down? It would help him stay healthier and fresher not getting consistently doubled. Also, Haynesworth is a phenomenal pass rusher from the DT spot, so the pass rush in instantly improved, and in turn, the defensive secondary is improved as well. Then, if you draft a DE in the 1st round (e.g. Greg Hardy), our defensive line suddenly goes from no ability to rush the passer to being dominant, like the line of '06. Look at this D-line and tell me our defense wouldn't be dominant again? Brown-Haynesworth-Harris-1st round pick... Throw in a new DC (b/c Babich is awful as everyone seems to know except for Lovie), and we essentially have the Titans defense of this year, but probably better. I think personnel-wise, our players (with Haynesworth) are better than the Titans (at least at every spot except Safety), yet their defense is awesome. The Bears offense this year with the Titans defense would be a 12-win team at worst and probably favorites to go to the Super Bowl along with the Giants. Though knowing Angelo, this will never happen. So, not sure what I'm even doing writing this... Edited December 29, 2008 by dasox24

They may not always be right, but he makes moves. He traded for Thomas Jones, Brendan Ayenbedajo, Adewale Ogunleye, and of course some of the wrong moves were trading away Jones, trading for Archuleta, and trading away Chris Harris, but the fact remains that Angelo actually does make moves. Correct, he does. What he does not do is give out ridiculous contracts to the top FAs every year (Faneca), only if it makes sense (Briggs). For the record, the trading away of Chris Harris was Part 2 of the same mistake (trading for Archuleta). Cowboys=Cubs, the nation crowning then NFC kings before playing a game and don't do anything in the post season, or get to the post season, for that matter. Do not even compare the two. DBAHO
We deserve all the crap we're gonna get over the next few weeks. The O-Line was ABYSMAL over the past few weeks, mainly the left side of it. Flozell Adams should be replaced if he's not healthy, and don't get me started on Cory Procter at LG. We need Kyle Kosier back at LG. On defense, Roy Williams the safety needs to be released, and we need to draft a cover safety early, because it's been painful watching the likes of Williams and Keith Davis cover the middle and tight ends. Oh and Mangini and Marinelli have both been fired.
Steve9347
That took long. The Bears confirmed that they will enter 2009 with Kyle Orton as their starting quarterback. The Bears apparently don't believe Orton's inability to go downfield and ugly finish to 2008 makes him deserving of competition. Orton will be in the last year of his contract and making him play for a potential extension is a start. The Bears need to give Orton better weapons, but we have our doubts he'll ever be above average.
lostfan
Please give a link to that. Not bringing in any serious competition is the same mistake they made with Rex.
