Ha. That's awesome. He can definitely chuck it and is pretty mobile. Doubt he makes the team though.

will have to see if we sign a veteran in FA ... i do not know what veteran QB wants to be #3 on the Depth Chart behind Grossman and Orton, hah.

who knows though, Romo was an undrafted FA and just sat as the #3 for a while even behind the likes of Drew Henson(the two sport pro baseball/football .. howd that go?). Maybe Hill is just another that somehow can mature to the NFL fast. Probably not, but it would be sweet.

Bears got an A for draft at Foxsports.com

From the eyes of Mel Kiper --

Chicago Bears: GRADE: B

Chris Williams is the left tackle the Bears need from pass-protection standpoint, and he'll start as a rookie. Matt Forte is a hard-nosed running back. He's not flashy but is elusive. I like what the Bears did on Day 2, starting with Vanderbilt WR Earl Bennett, who reminds me of Hines Ward. Arkansas DT Marcus Harrison lasted until the third round because of some off-the-field concerns, and Nebraska's Zack Bowman is a big corner who was once projected as a first-round pick, before he suffered injuries to both knees. LSU safety Craig Steltz -- who reminds me of former Bear Doug Plank -- will be a solid special teams player and could push for a starting job. With his height, Arkansas WR Marcus Monk could be a red zone threat and he qualifies as a very good seventh-round pick. He looked like second-rounder after his junior year, and ran a 4.42 in the 40-yard dash, which is excellen for a 6-foot-4, 220 pound receiver. Tight end Kellen Davis has tremendous athletic ability but he needs to be more consistent.

No one signed Tim Bugg yet? That's surprising, he's supposed to be the best LS available.

theres more then likely been more signings ... I believe what i posted was from primetime(around 8) if i saw the time right ... who knows

Bills signed Luke Drone from Illinois State

I heard some talk of him possibly being drafted/signed. Personally, I don't get it. I've watched him during his college career, he really doesn't have that good of an arm, is pretty accurate, but sometimes makes some bad decisions. The reason that he dropped off so much from his SO/JR years to his SR season is due to Laurent Robinson(WR-ATL) leaving, who in 1AA football only needed the ball in his general vicinity to make the catch.

I really loved that draft. Angelo did a tremendous job going with need picks early on and than getting agressive and taking some nice looking athletes (with the plethora of picks they had, he had a little leverage to get a little riskier in the latter rounds and hopefully it will pay off).

Bowman could turn into a stellar pick if he can get healthy. He's got great size and speed for a CB. Kellen Davis is a tremendous athlete too. I don't know how the Bears plan on using him, but to get an athlete like that when they did, I tip my cap (he is one of the late round picks in the entire draft who has the raw abilities to be an impact type of pick...albeit the odds are obviously stacked against him).

I wonder if the Bears try him out on the edge as opposed to TE (although having him develop and eventually replace Clark wouldn't be a bad idea either). He isn't the blocker Gilmore was, but with time he can be a very good blocker as well as a legitimate receiving target as well.

I really like the late round picks that the Bears got, and as a homer I love the Kirk Barton pick. He was an all big ten tackle and played on some very good running offenses, I think he can step in right away if Tait was hurt.

agree. he was projected as a fourth-rounder last year and fourth- or fifth-rounder this year before getting hurt and missing all of the workouts. i thought he, harrison, steltz, and bowman were really good value picks.

The Bears have also signed Caleb Hanie, QB out of Colorado State. Glad they signed him he was Kipers best QB at the end of the draft. So the Bears now have Grossman, Orton, Hill, Hanie ... lets get crazy. I do like Hanie though that would be sweet if he turns into something.

I seen lastnight on the news that the Bears signed some kicker named Longest as well.

Longest has a great leg and can hit those 50+ yarders that the Bears dont even bother to attempt with Gould. Hopefully he can improve his accuracy and catch on somewhere

I really liked this Bears draft, I had some pretty low expectations of Angelo to draft offense and I would've turned in my fan card had he not done the right thing and drafted one of those blue chip tackles with #14. But he went in with a plan, and his plan seemed to work. My only real problems with it were him not taking a G much earlier, and trading out of the 6th instead of taking a flyer on Woodson to see if he amounts to anything in a couple of years. I am not concerned on him passing on Brohm and Henne in favor of Forte. There were multiple needs to be filled and he couldn't fill them all on the first day.
