JuiceCruz16
The grand daddy of confrence tourney's! If my Heels can get to the finals they should have a good chance at a #1 seed, but winning it will lock up the #1 east seed with a trip through the sweet 16 staying completly within the tarheel state. (Greensborough & Charlotte I think) Edited March 13, 2008 by JuiceCruz16
Palehosefan
Just don't get beat in the 1st round is all I'm asking. Historically Roy hasn't cared about the conference tourney, but I think he needs to put a little more emphasis on it this year with Tennessee and even Duke looming to attain the #1 east seed if they win their tourneys. That and UNC and Duke are tied with 16 ACC tourney championships a piece. :-)
chimpy2121
We need at least two wins to be on the bubble (that assumes we beat UNC in the second game). If we win 3 we could be in depending on what else happens. It won't happen though. I don't think any Seminole fan is even confident about the WF game. There's no way we could be UNC too. zenryan
I'm just glad Miami doesnt have to face BC. I know we beat them last week but that was the first time in years. I like the setup for a semifinal run for my Canes.

whitesoxfan101
I think they were in anyways, but the win today locks Miami of Florida into the field of 65 IMO.
zenryan
Miami pretty much locked up a spot today with a nice win. Pretty much coasted the way home for the final 10 minutes or so. A nice matchup against VT tomorrow. I like our chances to get to the semis. State of Florida 2, State of North Carolina 0!
chimpy2121
Ugh, 3 minutes into the game and the ESPN announcers are complaining about no fouls called on FSU. Down by 7 at the half. It's been closer than that. Hansbrough has no offensive rebounds and hasn't gone to the charity stripe. I wish we'd cut our damn turnovers. And the complaining by the announcers continues into the 2nd half...and now they're talking about taking Hansbrough on a date? And this game is over...hello NIT. Go Canes, beat Va Tech and UNC please. Edited March 14, 2008 by chimpy2121
Palehosefan
UNC just sleepwalking through this game. FSU has missed a ton of close shots. Yuck.

The first half was good for us, the second half not so much. That's pretty much the story of the season. What can you expect though when you have so many guys injured? I would like to see FSU vs UF in the NIT. That'd be fun. Edited March 14, 2008 by chimpy2121
JuiceCruz16
Nice workman like performance by the Heels. Just seemed like a day at the office. Ty Lawson seemed to have a bit of his burst back at times, hopefully he is full speed from here on out.

That is debateable, and I can see your point, but the "grand daddy" is for being the original and longest running for the majors. ACC is that no doubt. whitesoxfan101
Virginia Tech gets their must win game today. They can assure themselves a spot with a win against UNC tomorrow, however if they do what I'd expect and lose a respectable, 8 to 10 point decision.......they are firmly on the bubble. However, with all these other bubble teams losing, they'd still have a shot.
zenryan
stupid Miami sleepwalking through another game. Luckily they won yesterday so they're in. But we could've gotten a higher seeding.
chimpy2121
Lmao at Ellington for getting a T with less than 3 minutes to go in a tied game. I'm actually really surprised Washington didn't turn around and punch him or something. Ugh, and ESPN's love fest moves on. whitesoxfan101
Virginia Tech will probably get in with all the help they've gotten and the fact they played North Carolina to the buzzer in what was basically a road game today. As for Tyler Hansbrough.....he'll have his day when he's in the NBA and can't get on the floor, just like what happened to J.J. Redick. Alright, Dicky V, Va Tech's resume is god awful but good try. I think there is a pretty good chance that Virginia Tech will get in because the committee (wrongly IMO) puts a lot of emphasis on your last 12 games. But if they don't make it, they are getting what they deserve. Same goes for Kentucky, so has a very similar resume to Tech.

Bad PR? They don't travel well for basketball and have only one top 50 RPI win. Plus, if your referring to the shootings, that anniversary isn't until about two weeks after the tournament.
