I really can't believe KW didn't acquire another starting pitcher this offseason.

It almost seems like KW just doesn't want to be wrong about his moves. He doesn't let go.

I would tend to give Floyd the benefit of the doubt if he actually had a track record of success. His only real success was last year in a few games vs. Detroit, when they had a depleted lineup. What we are seeing from him is what he has always displayed. It just bothers me that Kenny is putting so much faith in 2 pitchers who have never proven anything and one who had a really bad year last year. The fact that we can't seem to produce runs again is also bothersome. I guess this is just my spring panic, but I don't want to see what we saw last year.

i really dont have a problem handing the ball to danks...he was a good pitcher for hte first half of the year last year, and at a really young age...it would certainly be nice to have someone other than floyd, but we'll see. If he continues to stink, hopefully we will have a short leash with him.

I agree with you. I have some hope for Danks. If they do yank the leash on Floyd, who do we turn to?? Freddy Garcia?

I still think that Floyd can be an average pitcher, but if he's only throwing his fastball at 89-91 mph he's going to get killed in the AL. If you look at his highlight reel from last year on whitesox.com he was throwing 93-94 consistently. I hope he can get his fastball back to that range.

Floyd needs to get some neck tatoos or a neckbeard.

id still not mind giving haeger a shot ....it takes guys a long time to master the knuckler, and i honestly think hes the type of pitcher who will only get better...but we'll see....massett or broadway will probably get the first shot, though it would be tough to stretch massett out if he starts out in the pen

So for those of us who missed it... was that first-batter triple off Floyd a real triple, or an OF bungle? Because in the 2nd and 3rd that I've seen, Floyd has looked pretty good.

If you note this thread...the immediate response was to blame Owens...

Gavin as our 5th starter is going to be a huge mistake. He stunk it up in Philly (I've seen about 95% of his starts/appearances with Philly) and still hasn't even improved from that.

I hope our 5th starter isn't on the team yet because if so, it's going to be a long season every 5th day.

True, but there were more "Blame Floyd" responses.

Well, since those two are the favorite whipping boys of Soxtalk, I couldn't tell how seriously to take any of that.

I am a little worried about Floyd. But I am more worried about Danks, and even more worried about Contreras.

i think hawk just took an indirect shot at uribe...

"the guys who will kill you aren't the guys who make 65 million and play hard everyday like aaron rowand...the guys who kill you are the guys who make 4, 5, or 6 million and can't play"
